Cool So unbelievably excited to go to ARUBA!

Hey everyone!!! How's it going? I've been lurking here for weeks, lol. I just have to say thanks for all the tips! I wish I didn't wait until just about the last minute to join in on the fun here.

So, my fiance and I will be going from 6/19-6/25 and we'll be staying at the Riu. This is each of our first times going to Aruba... or anywhere with crystal clear water and beautiful beaches. We are so freakin' excited.

I guess what I want to know is: What was your favorite activity and why?
We'd like to do a few fun things without going overboard. Also I'll mention I have some neck/back issues at the moment so I really shouldn't do anything that could further upset my body. I def want to snorkel and do a tour of baby beach, natural pool (Is that what it's called?), the light house, etc.

Also, is Moomba's the best place to go for 2 younger adults looking to have some drinks and dance? I love a good DJ... but I also love live music too. What is your favorite bar/club to go to on weekends and/or week days?

As far as romance goes, the idea of dinner on the beach sounds amazing to me. Is Passions the best restaurant to go to for that?

I guess I had more questions than I realized! Anything you all could contribute would be so appreciated!

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. If you have neck issues, imo, I would not advise attempting a trip to the Natural Pool. There is very difficult terrain you need to cross in order to get there.

Passions would be the best selection for beach dining within a reasonable taxi ride of the Riu.

Hi there! My wife and I will be at the Riu from 6/18 - 6/24. We have rented a jeep for 3 days, bought our snorkel equipment, and made a couple of reservations. For the most part though, we are just going to hit the island running and see what kind of fun we can find! So excited! See ya around the bar!

welcome to the forum

i agree w/ lisa. do not do any rough riding that will mess up your neck or back. (jeep tours, horseback riding, and the natural pool falls into that category)
this is your 1st trip, do not overplan.

my suggestion would be to go with an organized snorkel tour such as jolly pirates or tranquillo..........BUT if you are having back/neck issues, climbing back onto the boat may be a point of concern. they do have a stair/ladder on the boats but it does take some maneuvering to get up.

a shore snorkel might be "just the ticket".....right there from catalina cove
about 2 miles up past the riu (maybe less than 2 miles) on the bus route or you could set up a time with a cab for drop off and pick up.

or rent your own car for the day for exploring and make sure snorkeling is included at baby beach! (about 18 miles away on the other end of the island)

Nikki - Moomba is a great bar (at least before the palapa blew off). My wife and I have met a lot of fun people there, we caught a few world series games there last October. They have a DJ sometimes at night - but I don't recall there to be a lot of people dancing. Maybe some nights are more popular nights then others to go out dancing.
