    Trip #4. Arriving in September

My fourth trip to beautiful, relaxing Aruba will be in September. Got a booking through my mother's time share company for the Renaissance in Oranjestad. Was hoping to get a hotel out in the Palm Beach area, but say what. The Renaissance is going to be ten times better than the place I stayed the last time out in Noord. The hotel reservation is set to run from the 12th September to 19th September (Friday to Friday). However as I will be flying out of Trinidad to connect through Curacao, the only days where flights are available are Sundays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. I will have to find accommodations for the 11th, 19th to 21st September. Any suggestions would be most welcomed and appreciated.

    that's great vallond.
i would inquire with the renaissance for add on days prior and post your timeshare week. the renaissance has hotel rooms too.
the renaissance ocean suites (timeshare and hotel) is undergoing a big renovation and is about 1/3 is completed.
when you are there, one of the pools will be undergoing a renovation too.

my husband and i love the renaissance ocean suites!!

we like their pools and LOVE their private island.

where did you stay on your last visit?

tell us about that place and the negatives and your budget for those extra nights.
once we know that, we can make suggestions.

On my last visit I stayed at the Coconut Inn located in Noord. The price was reasonable for the budget that I was operating with, and also because the place where I was hoping to stay was booked solid. The Studio Apt. was spacious, yet the furniture was a bit dated and in much need of replacement. Location wise it was a bit out of the way, sure it was within walking distance of The High Rise area and Moomba Beach, it was way too long of a walk. The on site restaurant only served breakfast, of which guests were limited to just one helping per visit.

If the Renaissance does not work out for an early check in or for a few days more, I will be okay with staying somewhere out in the Palm Beach area. Budget wise I can work with paying between $98.00 to $165.00 per night.

    Trip #$ Update.
Great News!!! I spoke to the rep at the company where the arrangements were made for the hotel reservations. I told them about my predicament with regards to my travel arrangements. To make a long story short my revised booking runs from Thursday 11th September to Thursday 18th September; and I will be staying at the La Cabana Resort opposite Eagle Beach. Needless to say I am really looking forward to this upcoming trip. Sure I may have to spend a portion of my birthday flying or in transit, I will get to spend the remainder of it on Aruba. And this trip will be the firs time that I will be arriving on Aruba in the day time as compared to early evening or night time on my previous visits. Hopefully I should get a window seat to take in the view of the approach to the island on landing.

You will love La Cabana. The staff is great and they have the best Happy Hours on the island. The units have all been remodeled. Do you know if you have a studio or 1 bedroom suite. Thursday-Thursday units don't have the best view; but how much time do you want to spend in your room anyway.

La Cabana is on the bus route; a short bus ride to the downtown shopping area of Oranjstead (15 mins) and to action-packed Palm Beach with lot's and lot's of restaurants, Casino's and Night life. (10 mins.).

The best way to get to La Cabana from the airport is taxi @$ 22 each way ($3.00 additional on Sunday). Much faster than taking one of the bus transfer companies that stop at other hotels before getting to La Cabana.
