    12/9-12/16 Trip Report part 1

Just got back from one of the best vacations yet.
We stayed at the Holiday Inn for the first time. Had a room in the new Sea Towers facing the pool & ocean. It was perfect. People were nice, room was great. The only problem I found were on the food and drink bill outside, they added a 15% service charge. I asked if that was a tip and they said it was but had to be split with everyone (pool cleaner, waiters, maids, etc) well from then on I only added another 5% to make the 20% or more if it was really good service. I have never heard of that and don't like it. Just wish the new pool was for 12 yrs. and up.
We did the Black Pearl and so happy I took your advice, that too was perfect. My first time snorkeling! I loved everything about it.
We ate at Barney's 3 out of 8 days. It is so good and yes, the people that own it, are the best!
Did not like the new sports bar TouchDown, people were not friendly and one 12oz and one 6oz Balushi draft beer,,,,,$18.00, there was only 3 people there, now we know why. Will not return
Did not like Tomato Charlies, again, unfriendly bartender, she stuck a glass in the ice bucket to get the ice! That is how you get broken glass in your drink. Had a 12" cheese pizza $14.00, a glass of house merlot (ugh) $9.00 and 2 6 oz cokes (mostly ice)$7.00
Found Busters Garage and watched the Patriots last Sunday, Rusty put on a game spread for $10 a person, met new friends and had a great time!
Ritz Casino was great, even won a little
Excelsior Casino, dealers were rude and slots are very very old. Will write more later.

    thanks for sharing

the added in service charge on your outdoor bar bill at the holiday inn was to include the pool staff and housekeeping? i think that you were lied to.

the owners at barneys are awesome indeed.

your opinion of the excelsior is the same as mine.
it needs a renovation and the staff need a lesson in congeniality.

Scooping ice with glass is a big time no no. Love Barney's. That Touchdown's place always seems to be empty. I've never been there but almost walked in once... kind of glad I skipped it.

Glad you liked the Holiday Inn. Thanks for the update. We are staying there next May. Were at the Hyatt this year but are using some points for a couple of free nights at HI. It appeared to be great. Barney's is absolutely on my to do list.
