I too am sorry about your experience at Iguana Cantina. We have had good experiences there and I always hope others enjoy places as much as we do. Hopefully you will make up for it in the next few days! Thanks for posting.
Thanks, but it is what it is. I just don’t know why Iguana Cantina can’t get their act together. Maybe it's just us, but I digress...
9/24: We awoke to another glorious day in Aruba. Have I mentioned that the weather has been absolutely beautiful? Well it has. I think there was a cloud in the sky the other day, but it quickly blew offshore. It's been windy, hot and sunny every day. Breakfast was at Scott’s Brats and I loaded up on license plates, coozies, a t-shirt and of course the standard breakfast burritos and screwdrivers. We got back and did some serious pool time. My son’s girlfriend won the bingo jackpot of 47 bucks and I think they are at Stellaris right now making a donation. We attended the owners meeting and the refurbished pool was revealed (see my other post on that). Dinner was at Smokey Joe’s (all you can eat rib night) and as usual it was fantastic.
Andrea, I plan on snooping around the Ritz. I'll let you know what I find.
9/25: Well, late last night my son and his girl friend lost a credit card. They were up half of the night looking and then calling the CC Company to report it lost, request a new one be sent, etc. So a greater part of today was spent trying to solve that mess. The rest of the time was spent at the newly opened pool bar ending with dinner at the former Sawasdee. It was a pretty stressful day to say the least. Good news was that Marriott security personnel found the “lost” card on the property. Bad news was the change of Sawasdee to Shoco Loco. All of us are really looking forward to tomorrow.
9/26: So after the stressful day yesterday, we decided that a snorkel trip to Baby Beach was in order. We drove down and spent the better part of the day in the water and under a palapa at Baby Beach. It was a very relaxing time and the weather wasn’t too bad. It was actually a bit overcast for the first time in a week or so, but we were at the other end of the island and it seems the clouds are always a bit more plentiful there. By 3:00 it cleared up and the sun was in true form. We enjoyed cheeseburger platters (and a special made kids meal that the girl behind the counter suggested for my adorable grandson) from Big Mommas, for very reasonable prices. Around 4:30 we made our way back to the Surf Club and the political parties were out in force. The amount of cars/trucks/houses/businesses with political party signage and flags is incredible. The elections are tomorrow and all of the off resort bars/restaurants have stopped serving alcohol till Saturday. I really hope I can score a flag from one of the political parties to use as an accent to the Tiki hut I am building in my back yard. How cool would that be? My son and his girlfriend moved into their own villa this evening and it is a lot quieter now in our villa. Everyone is watching the season premier of Grays Anatomy and I am chilling with a Balashi as our first week comes to an end. Man, only one more week to go.
