4th Time Trip Report-Tim and Kathy

Flew Spirit Airlines=Detroit to Fort Lauderdale-Aruba arriving in Aruba about 2pm. We rented a Jeep from Royal and right away realized it was not going to fit 4 of us. Tim-hubby dropped us off at LaCabana and went and exhanged it for a SUV. We were very satisfied with them and appreciated that they did not charge us for a larger vehicle.
We went to the pool and ordered drinks and relaxed before going to dinner at Yemanja. Dinner was very good although we thought the portions were rather small and the drinks were not great.
On Sunday we went to the beach and had rum punches flowing through out the afternoon. Sunday night we went to Madame Janettes' it was once again the best meal of our trip. So good we actually went back on Friday night. Monday we decided to get up and stay around the pool, we played Bingo Monday thru Friday. Shawn and Jeri won T-Shirts and $20.00, Tim and I-nothing. We went to meet others at Amsterdam Manor-I-Kathy was not feeling to well so I was not real social-sorry everyone. Maybe next time.
Tuesday Jeri and I had massages at Manchebo. It was beautifully laid out and we enjoyed it very much. I would go back in a heart beat. We had dinner at Smokey Joes and it was very good-our 4th time there-each trip so far.
Wednesday we went to the natural bridge-baby bridge now. We had never been to that side of the island and we really thought it was cool. We built up some rocks-not sure what it all means but we did it anyways it was fun. I dont know how to get my pictures on here we have some pretty good ones. We also stopped at baby beach and swam and snorkled. We had dinner at Wacky Wahoo's-we didnt care for it too much the shrimp was terrible- I could not eat it at all, they were very friendly and gave me the fish special-dakota fish? It was very tasty but by the time I got my meal everyone else was on dessert. It took 45 minutes for our credit card to be correctly done and that was really ridiculous.
Thursday we again mostly stayed around the pool. Had dinner at Old Man and the sea and it was the most romantic restaurant I have ever been to. Food was very good, atmosphere outstanding. Our only complaint was trying to get our bill and pay our bill it took a long long time, understand it was just opened a week. It really is a place to go to, I highly recommend it.
Friday went down to the beach-the water is so clear and calm on eagle beach just the best beach I have ever been to. We were getting very bummed about it being our last day. We went to two time share presentations in the morning. Between the four of us we got $100.00 to Madame Janettes- $ 700.00 worth of coupons and cash two play at two different casinos. We ended up ahead by about $500.00 total between us and our friends.
On Saturday we went down to the beach in the morning and then sat at the pool until about 10:30am.
Flight home was good. We are bummed to be home, but looking forward to trip number 5.
So we had another wonderful trip and Aruba is where/what we look forward to. It is very cold here in Michigan right now. Brrrrrrr.
To everyone who is on their way-Have a safe wonderful trip.

Hi kalo721,
your pic with the tables right on the beach... where is this? looks like just what I need for an anniversary dinner with hubby for our Dec. trip.

Planning your 5th trip? Is Aruba that catchy. We might just have to look into timeshares. 1st trip for the both of us 12/7-12/13.

I CAN'T BELIEVE WE'RE GOING TO ARUBA!

Thanks! Catherine

Great trip report - Quick question: Should I cancel my FFB reservation? We have one for MJ and it appears to me that The Old Man and the Sea is the place to go. Thanks!!

FFB VS Old Man and the sea

Here is my opinion. YES!!!!! I would go to old man and sea it is much better than FFB-food and atmosphere. It is a beautiful place. Our waiter even asked how we would like our meal quick or more spread out. I have never been asked that before and I was very impressed. After all some people dont like to wait and other like us wanted to enjoy the dinner and conversation without being rushed. Very romantic for two. Table spread out and it is what FFB used to be. I hope it stays this way.

Yep 5th trip being planned. We will be bringing our Granddaughter who lives with us next time I believe. I am not sure how a 3.5 yr old will do but we will probably try. Next time we are going 10 days min. maybe 2 weeks, not enough time with a week.

Kathy

Thanks for confirming my thoughts - I'm going to cancel with them this afternoon - they took our cc# for the reservation and if I don't cancel they will charge us a no show. When I made the reservation with MJ they didn't ask for a card and sent the confirmation...So Old Man And the Sea it is! Thank you.
