One word to describe this trip, LAZY! I don't want to go to super foods, take the bus, taxi etc. Today I ate breakfast at islanders grill, bought a 6 pack at their mini market for 20 bucks, beach all day and dinner at chalet suisse a cross the street from MVC. Had the early bird special for 33 which included a nice 8oz sirloin which was juicy n tender. Made a reservation for their 28 dollar bird thanksgiving special.

Sounds great so far! How's the water temp? Does it take any getting used to or just walk right in?
Not sure when, but we will be back

Today was a beautiful beach day! Unfortunately I had to leave early by noon. Reason being I had to switch rooms. As I mentioned in the beginning of my post about MVC the shower door was not wide enough for me to enter. After 2 days of squeezing sideways and I saw that I was black n blue all over my stomach I spoke up. Just imagine if a door only opened half way and u had to squeeze sideways to get out. Now I have a room with a shower that has a shower curtain so I can walk straight in. Well since I cut my beach time short to move let me go to bugalu or Pega pega for lunch.

    couldn't they have moved you?
you could have packed up your stuff, and when the room ready they (MVC) moved your bag(s) to the new room?
seems like you were inconvenienced with the door/bruising/squeezing.
the least, and i mean the least they should have done was move you without you having to be any more inconvenienced.
just my opinion and i suppose it is my age and impatience that is speaking

Sounds like an European shower stall. Some are small, some are really small like 800mm x 800mm (31.5 inches x 31.5 inches). I'm rather petite but have to be careful not to bump with my elbows against the shower stall wall.

I wonder why they didn't give you the room with the shower curtain right away? I assume that were the rooms you had in the past.

Enjoy the rest of your vacation!

When I reported the problem on my way to the beach they were going to remove the door and put a shower curtain. However they were out of shower curtain. The front desk manager told me that she had long told the owners to remove those doors and just put a shower curtain. I lifted my shirt and showed the manager and owner my black n blue which was not a pretty sight in 3 sections of my stomach. So then they decided to move me but they could not make the keys because the system was down so they told me to come in an hour. I said I,m going to the beach I will be back in 2 hours. At least it is all resolved now.

I went to bugalu for lunch afterwards. I hoped on one of those mini buses and the girl wasn't sure where it was an dropped me off the holiday inn. I had a nice long walk to the riu using the boardwalk, saw Scott brat very busy at 2pm and bugalu was mobbed at 2 as well for lunch. I had the steak wrap with a frozen blue Hawaii. I was tired when I got back so I took a nap. Must of been that walk in the sun and the sun at bugalu.

I love those frozen blue Hawaiians.
Sorry you had issues with the showere and moving but it sounds like the front desk was helpful and polite about it.

We've done that walk from Holiday Inn to Bugaloe in the afternoon and it can get hot. It's funny when we stay on the HI side we always seem to want to be at Bugaloe and when we stayed at the Radisson we always wanted to be at Pelicans nest. But all the eating and drinking we do there, the walks are good I guess.
Not sure when, but we will be back
