Or how about those silly conversations that take place on a flight, where the people having the conversation are rows apart? It's almost as bad as using public transportation and there is that one passenger talking really loud on their phone. The most hilarious one that I was forced to listen to was an argument between some guy and his girlfriend( apparently he found out that she was cheating on him with his best friend and his cousin); as much as I tried to tune them out with the music on my i-pod the giggles and laughs from my fellow passengers made it next to impossible. When the flight attendants asked them to lower their voices they just got even louder. What made it even more hilarious was that they couple engaging the argument were both sober and not drunk as I first thought. Humans, what can you do about them?
We started cleaning the house a little so it isn't a mad panic on the last day. We bought a floor steamer which is a godsend in a house that's all tile. We kept thinking like North Americans and invested in a vacuum last trip which probably wasn't the brightest idea as there are no carpets. Next, we'll have a furnace installed.
A trip to Superfood and then into the pool. Um... the sky became overcast in the afternoon... uh, what? We didn't sign up for that! No rain though (which the island needs).
Went for dinner at our neighbour's house last night. They have a beautiful traditional-style home with vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, a fantastic lanai with huge sectional, outdoor dining room and ceiling fans, and all beautifully lit. Really spectacular setting. She made a wonderful, Dutch dish called "kapsalon": it's lettuce, pasta, shawarma, salsa, melted Gouda and garlic sauce all piled on top of each other. YUM...
Apple pie and whipped cream for dessert. I thought we were going to need a cab home (next door) as we were so stuffed.
Sounds like you hit the jackpot when it comes to neighbors. That's a huge plus! Maybe I missed it because I've been mesmerized by the food pics, but have you been to the beach much, or do you just stick to the pool mainly? Also wondering if you planning to rent your house out when you aren't using it? Not asking for rental reasons, just being nosey, um I mean curious..lol
I want your neighbors! On our last trip I discovered chicken shawarma and garlic sauce. It was fabulous. I asked about the seasoning in the shawarma and they said you can by the spice at the grocery store. The container is labeled shawarma spice.
