once you figure on how to balance that ceiling fan, we have one over our bed that drives me bonkers.
paul has tried unsuccessfully to get it balanced.

tat fat or fat tat....we were in there 2x this trip!

i did purchase some SinterKlaas candies (near the front door in lings) lots actually.
try the gold coins, they are delicious.

    Day 6

Our dishwasher nightmare appears to have ended: as long as I stare at it for the 2+ hour cycle, it runs to successful completion. No problem!

We headed out to the "Do It Center" hoping to find a ceiling fan balancing kit. Sadly, not in the cards BUT we did find a ceiling fan for the bathroom because, you know, that's what we need: another balancing act. We opted to not install it until we're in the right frame of mind. Essentially, we'll never install it.

A quick trip to SuperFood to pick up some staples and then back to The Manse for more DIY challenges and a trek to the pool.

The Neighbour and The Spouse attempted to fix some of the pool filter issues that we were having and were met with a modicum of success. And, really, how many times can you say "marine lube" without giggling like a little girl? As is my station in life, I was on pina colada duty to reward the tireless pool fixers.

Dinner was a bone-in ribeye with sautéed mushrooms, corn and a wonderful onion bread from the bakery at SF.

Some Netflix ("Chelsea" and a Norwegian series, "Eyewitness") and then to slumber for tomorrow is another ceiling-fan-dishwasher day.

Through all the first-world travails, we're having a great time and are laughing a lot at how useless we are at home repair... but getting better!

make sure all the screws on the fan are tight(fan blade and arm),sometimes they loosen.also try taping a coin(your choice florin or other)to top of one one of the fan blades.that little bit of extra weight sometimes is enough to stop the annoying wobble

I'm really surprised you measure the dishwasher cycle by hours rather than number of margaritas. I'm a little disappointed.

    It's the new math: 1 hour = 3 margaritas.

We need to consider temperature and sunlight as a variable.

f(x) where x is equal to the number of degrees the temperature rises in correlation to the coldness of the margarita being consumed relative to the time of day.

So... if act1966 consumes three margaritas at a rate of one per twenty minutes and a train leaves the station in Chicago at 4:56 p.m., calculate the length of shadow that is produced with a building crane moving in an east-west direction causing interval interruptions.

Tracey: please solve for "x" and show your proof.
