Pretty sure that's what one cannibal said to the other when they were eating a clown.

Some strange light rain sprinkles. That or tree iguanas are peeing on us.

Nothing says "vacation" like getting ready for the Tax Office...

Had to do a little schlepping around to get our property deed so we can go to the Tax Office ("Impuesto") and pay our property taxes. You can run from real life but you can't hide...

As promised in an earlier post, I'll be detailing the excruciating tax payment process later on. Make your popcorn now.

Deed done, we headed to the pool to R&R with a few cold ones.

We decided to hit "Local Store" for dinner. It was okay... yes, I'm man enough to admit that my prior stellar reviews may not be holding water anymore. Things were a little off so I was disappointed.

Back to The Manse, a nightcap and an early night as I'm recovering from a cold and The Spouse is gearing up for one... it's like a daycare in here!

    The Tax Man

Off we went to the Impuesto to pay property taxes so we braced ourselves for the worst. If one thing unites us as a planet, it's that line ups for tax information are universally long. When we eventually colonize Mars, I'm sure the tax office will be the first thing built with a ticket-number dispenser so we can start lining up now.

But we got away in just over an hour so I'll call that a "win". Unfortunately, we couldn't actually pay our taxes as they don't take credit cards from North America. It's like they don't want our money. Sigh.

We skipped going to the bank to straighten out some affairs because I think dealing with one institution per day is more than enough.

So we schlepped back to The Manse after a quick pop-in at PriceSmart - more tequila!! - and settled into the pool for some hit 'n miss weather throughout the afternoon and medicinal Coronas.

Prettied up and went to Kalin's for some Mexican with The Neighbour. A good, fun night.... singer in the Palm Beach Plaza courtyard aside...Oy with the Quando Quando Quando already!

Was there any explanation? Transaction fees or foreign exchange fees maybe? Or just "because"? Do they accept a check or just cash?
