    Almost ready.....

OK, so it's 10:30pm and we have a 2:30am wakeup call for a 5:15am flight. Who scheduled this? Can't sleep, gonna be a long day, but can't wait. Arrive at 12:50 tomorrow!

That’s the usual pattern for us too, when traveling to the island. You’ll get used to it and love it all the way. Just make sure that if you fall asleep on the plane that you wake up in time to see the island as you approach the airport. It’s a rush!

Have fun...sounds like our travel plans as well. I sleep on the plane to make up for the lack of sleep the night prior to leaving.

Yes, there was some snoring on the very full plane. Got in a little late at 1:15. We were through and getting taxi at 2:30. Fairly long lines through the passport scanning phase and then our luggage was already pulled off the conveyor. We missed the duty free at BWI (if there is one) and ended up waiting 15 minutes or so buying duty free booze before the Aruba customs. Prices were good. At Aruban customs we just walked right through, no one even seemed to be checking. Taxi line was long but quick. Short trip to Renaissance and our room was ready. We did the Blue happy hour and light dinner over Main street at Iguana Joe's. Early to bed tonight as we hear Kookoo bus outside. Nice to be here.

Well, about 12 hours sleep, but feeling good today. Lazy morning with coffee and tea in room. Lunch at the Paddock for split pea soup that was wonderful. Walked around and shopped some for the granddaughter. We went out to the Renaissance Island for the afternoon, nice as always with some changes. New cabanas for rent on both sides. $200 to $400 for a days rental. They looked nice. Booked a couples massage and dinner at Madame Jeanette's for Monday. Was disappointed tonight as our go-to second night's dinner is always at Taj Mahal, but they were closed for renovations. Ate at Lucy's Retired Surfer across the street. Had sandwiches and they were very good.

Oh, but there is one message to the lady at the Paddock who had a 15 minute conversation on her cell phone in speakerphone mode. It is so relaxing here that although my husband was going to walk over to your table, throw your phone into the water and then strangle you, he was able to remain calm and just chill, with another bottle of Chill.
