    Thumbs up Amsterdam Manor

I cannot put into words how wonderful this resort is. Every day their staff goes above and beyond in trying to please their guests. For a tranquil beach vacation, this small clean up to date beach resort is surely for you. There are photos accompanying the review which show you how quiet the beach is at the Amsterdam Manor. One of the biggest complaints about Aruba's resorts are the shortage of palapas and the need to awaken at dawn to claim your shade. The resort was busy while we were there, hosting a wedding of 50 or so guests and every single day there were open palapas at any time of the day. Some days there were even the highly sought after front row shade palapas open in the middle of the afternoon!

People looking for activities and action will be bored to tears at this resort. It is just a bonus though that you are 5 minutes from the casinos and action on Palm Beach.

People who do not research the resort and do not know what to expect also say what a negative it is to have to cross a small road in order to reach the beach. From my review,

"My father has difficulty walking and found the Amsterdam Manor to be just the right size for getting around with his cane without having to resort to using a wheelchair. At the Amsterdam Manor the walk from our second story penthouse to our palapa on the beach was shorter than any room we have ever stayed in at a high rise hotel on Palm Beach."

Nice reviews Lisa. It seems like you have found your home in Amsterdam Manor. We are thinking about it for a future trip. I was one of those who was unsure how I felt about having to cross the street but recent posts have made us think maybe we should give it a look.

Happy to hear you love Amsterdam Manor as much as we do. It's been our "Aruba home" for over 10 years now.

The walk across the street is really a non-issue. Go check it out next time you are in Aruba

I can post photos showing how short of a walk it is across the street, but it doesn't really do the distance justice. This picture was taken from our balcony.

We had gone to the board party at the beach bar on our last trip. When we left, we crossed the street to grab the bus. I remember saying Oh this would be fine. That and the glowing reviews has me putting it on the list for a future trip. In November we're going back to the Divi but then moving to the Radison for a few nights to check it out there. My thought is for future trips we should try different resorts.

LOVE that idea! I think it's only right that I take a few months off to spend a week a each resort/apartment rental! You know, just so I can report back

The distance is quite short. Don't be thrown off by the fact that a street crossing is involved. The distance from the exit at a high rise to the beach could be just as long.
