Now I'm just being nosy; do you think you will return to AM for your next trip, or go back to the Radisson/Hilton? The low rise vs high rise is such a different experience.

Sorry to hear the service at TdB wasn't great, but really glad to hear the salad bar is still an A+

Hope those palapas stay just as accessible for the rest of your stay! and mine at LaCabana next month

That's the beauty of staying at a smaller, boutique style hotel - you're not packed on the beach like sardines. Hope you enjoy your last days in Aruba - the quiet, the peaceful...and the Brights.

Nice dinner at Ricardo's last night. Good food and atmosphere and DW loved her meal.... yay!

After dinner, walked over to Manchebo to check out a room. I'm kinda thinking this might be our destination next year and what's funny, this is the first hotel I ever checked out on line and it interested me. The Amsterdam Manor is a wonderful property with really great staff and I'm definitely sold on the low rise area. Manchebo offers more close by dining spots and a great beach. The AM has way too many kids for 'my vacation'.... I love kids and I love Amstel Brights...... but, more than 2 or 3 of either is too much for me at one time!

No casino visit last night and I'm sure they missed my money but had a minor crisis at home that needed attending and all is good and back to normal.

Another lazy day at the beach after a Mango breakfast. No lunch today, but a couple of drinks on the beach that I went back to make for us. Still a lot of breakers on the shore, but not much seaweed like there had been the last coupla days. Had a 20 minute shower toward noon after a somewhat cloudy morning..... and that morphed into another perfect Aruba sunny day!

The beach guy does a good job chasing away 'non residents' when they try to camp out under one of the palapas and he also handles chair rentals for other non residents that decide to stay. Had our usual palapa today and no notice of people staking out there palapa for the day and never showing up to use it. That made me so crazy at the Radisson when people did that!

The Manchebo looks like a wonderful property. If it's adult only you're looking for there is always the Bucuti. What we enjoy most about the low rise is the easy access to the palapas and how uncrowded the beaches are. I do, however, enjoy a few nights in the high rise for a change of scenery. Glad everything is back to normal at home.

i too am glad to hear that all is ok at home.

we love the whole manchebo, aruba beach club, casa del mar and alhambra campus.
it is convenient to everything in my "wants and needs"

also too, you may want to look into the Aruba Beach Club (ricardos home) for a timeshare unit to rent.

i have a question re: the non resort residents under the palapas. were they on their own chairs or on amsterdam manor lounges/chairs? per the aruba courts, all of the palapas on public beaches are available for anyone to use. the chairs/lounges however, are not for public use.
