    i am a shoeaholic and a purseaholic.
not necessarily pricey stuff, but if i like it, even if cheapo, i buy it.
    the birks were expensive.
the crocs, for what they are ...are expensive too.
probably about $300 for the 4 pair.

but not like many others with high end shoes.

The shoes and extra nights accommodations alone ... made for a lot of extra un-budgeted expenses for sure!

This is very true! But I love flying, so for some reason that has never been an issue for me!

Hope you get some good news today. *fingers crossed*

come on, don't leave me hanging, did everything work out? did you finally get your luggage? after being away for so long I am catching up only now. Hope it worked out for you and the luggage gremlins didn't get your stuff.

FYI on the sinus infections, I use to get them all the time when I flew especially during allergy season. Now when the plane lands I use a natural saline spray first thing. It kills all the potential nasty germs that you might have encountered on the plane. Well not so much kill as make it hard for them to survive in your sinuses.

paul and i actually quite regularly use the SINUS WASH (NEIL MED from CVS) and it has saved us many a time. typically we are especially at risk during allergy season, and now that we are florida residents our allergy season goes from march thru august?

    we got our luggage!

we have filled out the claim for trip insurance/trip cancellation/trip interruption....all receipts for expenses incurred from the time our flight was cancelled til we departed on the 28th
    3 extra nights at hotel
3 extra days of car rental
    gas for the car
    2 dinners
few extra things from grocery (lings)

i encourage ALL to purchase trip insurance.
we always go thru www.insuremytrip.com and typically choose ACCESS AMERICA insurance co using that site. the reason we like ACCESS AMERICA is because they include collision on car rental at no additional charge.

now, if they deny our claim (which they said they won't) i will not be recommending them again.

YEAH!!!! I love a happy ending. Sorry you had to go through all of that but glad it worked out.

Glad to hear you say that about Access, they are the ones I am going to be working with tomorrow about all the delays we had. we shall see...

Andrea, would you share this dentist? Could I have her name. My friend needs a crown - we are coming in Feb. Thanks, Mary

    her email is

    jundiraras@rasdental.com

her name is DR. JUNDIRA RAS and she and her staff are excellent.

use me as a referral (andrea james)

her prices are more reasonable than here in the USA.

    re: crown work
make certain that your friend is going to be on island for at least 7 business days as she does have to send the impression out to the lab and that takes a few days.

my husband has to go back in december for a root canal, post and crown.
me, i lucked out and only have to have a cleaning in august
