Well, the bags are packed and we are all checked in and boarding passes printed.
This time for $47 each we grabbed the business class upgrade. It was offered when I did the online check in so what the heck? Again, it's Air Tran, so nothing spectacular……no meal, but decent sized seats, plenty of legroom. But that is tomorrow's story………..
Today…….the winds were whipping and the sun blazing. Paul and I spent a little while at Renaissance Island just to take a few photos and sit in the sun for an hour. We came back and hung out poolside for the better part of the day. Paul listened to 3 Stuart Woods (Stone Barrington) while here and read 2 Pattersons in the 2 weeks. Me, I had such good intentions of reading and or listening to some Nora Roberts books……..but the wifi on the beach and the pool got the best of me. I did read one Mary Higgins Clark book and listened to only one Nora Roberts. Shame on me. When I tell you that I truly did a lot of nothing it is the truth. I was a slug. In my defense of being a slug, I did spend hours in the ocean and in the pool every day. If i was not swimming or trying to exercise a bit, I was sitting on my noodle. I did get out often to reapply sunblock, restroom and beverage…… actually I drank very little coconut rum during the 2 weeks but an excessive amount of club soda w/ lime.
The lady in the towel shed at the Renaissance said to me………I have never seen anyone stay in the pool as long as you. In my first life I must have been a fish.
Dinner tonight was at old faithful……..Hung Paradise. We had their delicious tomato soup and a loempia each. Someone asked what the waitresses name is……..Jane! (She and her husband are the owners) We were joined there by my aunt and uncle who are here for a month. Lucky them.
Patience is the word for the weekend! Soul Beach Festival is here and it is going to be BUSY and FUN……..so if you are on island expect a lot of downtown traffic, expect parking at the Marketplace to be difficult. There are tickets available for the shows!! Check with your resort concierge.
The 2 cats that we have befriended have now been turned over to our neighbors in room 2123. They are here for 3 weeks and we turned over the supply of cat food (canned and dry) and instructions. They have the contact info for the ARF-ARUBA in the event that they want to bring them home. We cannot
Later this afternoon we took a drive over to the tamarijn to search out forum member Mr Ratt, but did not see him. It was plenty busy over there and the waves at their beach were huge!
So, that's about it.
Will write again tomorrow wrapping things up.
For those of you traveling to Aruba soon……….I am envious.
