Weather is great. The wind returned this morning shortly after 10!
We spent all day on Renaissance Island. The flies were lousy til about 10. We had a 30 minute rain and then the breeze picked up.
We spent the day under a palapa, reading and snoozing and spent probably about 4 hours in the water! It was very quiet there til about 1 pm and then it got pretty busy. Water a beautiful 79 degrees.
We Facetimed with our son and daughter in law and called my elderly aunts sending motherís day wishes!
Dinner was in Wayaca at friendís house.......prime rib yum! We enjoy our annual visits!! We met 2 lovely rescued dogs...one a small female ďMiaĒ, age 1, and she weighs about 20 lbs, looks like a naked fox with a very pretty face. She was in my face lots giving lots of kisses. The other, (i forget her name) looked like a sheltie/lab mix and was quite timid and is about 2 yrs old. She weighs upwards of 40 lbs. She is very timid but will eat snacks right out of your hand and will bark at you til you talk to her. Of course I want them both. But we already have a dog and 2 cats so we are maxed out with pets. If you are interested in adopting, or fostering, message me and I can put you in touch with ARF-ARUBA for more info. (forum members BillstellaR and Sugar) There are many many adult dogs and pups that are waiting for their forever homes. Adopting a dog or cat from Aruba is actually quite easy. They are a wonderful rescue group and survive solely from donations and much hard work from the volunteers that love these animals with their hearts and souls.
After dinner, Paul came back to the Renaissance and I headed across the street to the Crystal Casino where I was not as lucky as forum member Rumpire, but i did make a few dollars. woo hoo!
Weather incredible. Much sun and a few clouds every now and again. Windy to the point that being in the sun is very tolerable ………..and when it is like that it is tough to remember to reapply sunscreen.
Spent some time at Renaissance Island (crowded with 2 cruise ship shore excursion passengers) then most of the afternoon poolside.
Dinner was at French Steakhouse......Paul had filet and I had blackened grouper. We enjoyed our meal. The waiter was terrific and FSH is always one of our favorites.
Windy! Windy! Bright sun and occasional clouds passing by. We spent the majority of the day at Renaissance Island, then back to the pool, then hurried off to the dentist for a cleaning and exam. 65 florins each! Both cavity free and no lectures to either of us about flossing
Dinner was @ West Deck. Delicious! Service was good. We had grouper and chicken..yum. Paul was the designated driver, so he nursed one glass of wine while I enjoyed a couple of pina coladas. It was a very pleasant hour and half.
Casino was Alhambra and it was too smokey and warm for our liking. Drove up to the Marriott and won a little. Forum member Nancy stopped to introduce herself and to say hello!
Tomorrow we’ll make an early run to Le Delizia bakery in Noord and then plant our sorry bums by the pool. We are planning Scott’s Brats visit on Friday.
Andrea I'm so glad you tried and liked the West Deck. That place is definitely on our to go list. We're flying home today after our "Baltimore Vacation" and have started thinking about planning a trip to Aruba; possibly in November.
