    Day 6 May 14

If I were my mother, I would be hanging clothes on the line to dry in the stiff breezes.
The winds are amazing and feel so good.
The sun is intense. Even I got burned on the nose today. My own fault as I had 50 SPF on earlier and then applied an 8 SPF early afternoon.

Spent a few hours this morning at Ren Island and then back to the Ocean Suites pools and the newly renovated lagoon. The lagoon has had a scuba guy in for the last few days sucking out the muck, raking seaweed and removing those jelly like worm things. The lagoon was awesome today.
The scuba man, that was the “cleaner of the lagoon” told us at a minimum this job has to be done every 4 to 6 months and Marriot Corp insisted this is now to happen on a regular basis.
Now that the lagoon is clear and nice, we will opt for it tomorrow. Although we love Renaissance Island, the boat ride nauseates me. I do take a Bonine but with the rough seas and wind, I do not enjoy the nausea for the beginning of my day. Been there and done that with morning sickness 29 yrs ago. Yuk.

Some poor older gentleman pressed the wrong lever on his battery operated scooter and wound up in the pool He had some minor injuries and maybe a broken toe Paul and I and a few elderly folks came to the rescue. By the time we had his head above water and him sitting on the stairs Renaissance security came and offered their assistance.
We think the scooter ( a rental from Labco) is deceased....rip scooter.
I wonder if he is responsible for the replacement cost.

We intended to go to Driftwood or Amadeus for dinner, but were not especially hungry. Dinner consisted of a bottle of wine and some cheese and crackers and sliced apples.

    The Crystal Casino was UNKIND.

Enjoying your reports. You are doing everything I want to do on our trip this year, well except the rescue. I'm hoping your luck turns around at the casinos!
Not sure when, but we will be back

...LOL...and you had just posted earlier how you were boring...! Great reports....That's the beautiful thing about Aruba.....Relaxation...is Exciting!.. not boring!...Love your reports! We are thinking about doing Westdeck for a late lunch the day we get in...not sure what their hours are...we get in around 3pm on Airtran...and hoping we get upgrade options like yours. It sounds like the price depends on the flight length and availability obviously...we will be connecting through Atlanta so if we get the chance...it will probably be a bit more. Thanks again for the reports !

Glad to hear about the breeze. We never wanted to travel to Aruba in June because we heard the trade winds die down in late spring and summer and it gets extremely hot without the breezes. We'll be there in approx 3 weeks and glad to hear we won't fry.
