The scuba man, that was the “cleaner of the lagoon” told us at a minimum this job has to be done every 4 to 6 months and Marriot Corp insisted this is now to happen on a regular basis.

It's about time. The lagoon has so much potential but typically is like an open sewer. I hope Marriott keeps it up, I would like to use the lagoon from time to time.

    Day 7 May 15

Lots of clouds this morning turning to solid sunny and praying for a cloud kind of afternoon.
We went over to Ren Island this morning and turned around and came back to the pool The seaweed on the family side was beyond belief and not much better on the adult side. I do have to say that the Ren beach guys were very busy raking it out of the water and bundling it along the edge to dispose of. It was amazing that such a plume grew in such a short period of time. We may go back in a couple of days, giving them a chance to clean it up.
Scubaman continues to clean the lagoon and it looks so good. The bottom is sand and not muck. Woo Hoo

Dinner tonight was at Madame Janette’s. We both had Torenados Ramon and shared a salad! We brought the equivalent of an entire dinner home!
No dessert as we were STUFFED. Easily the best meal of our stay so far.
Chris, one of the managers is now at Amuse Bistro at the Playa Linda. He is the manager there! His wife Suzy, still works at MJs.

Casino at Marriott was kind......we broke even.
We moved on to the Crystal and won a tiny amount which we spent on ice cream at Haagen Das.

That’s all from sunny and windy Aruba.

Glad you are continuing to have a great time. Out of curiosity, how do they get the muck out?

there is a scuba guy with a generator and a boat and 2 long hoses (like fire hoses)
it appears that he is sucking the muck thru it and being depositied in the opening of the seawall.
somehow too, that generator is supplying him air.
he does not surface very often, maybe once an hour.
paul seems to be "supervising." he and a couple of other guys sit there, smoke their cigars and seem to have it all under control

scooter man update………the man has a broken toe and is in a cast. the scooter is apparently deceased. $1500 is what they charged his credit card

Wow, sounds like Paul and the other 2 could get a job with the city here. We always see 3 guys supervising 1 road worker here.

    Red face

Glad Mme J's lived up to expectations. Loving the visuals of 'the boys' supervising the lagoon clean up! Thanks again for the daily updates.... and give the casinos hell!
