thanks all for the kind words.
i am trying to be less wordy and from someone that has a motor mouth it is a challenge.
i also admit we are pretty boring folks.

    Day 9 May 17

Less wind! We were able to read the daily newspapers from our lounges. (I prefer the wind though)

The solid overcast burned off by 11 am and it was again one of those “pray for a cloud days.”

Dinner was at the Buccaneer. Delicious. Paul had Barracuda and I had Seafood Paella. I was totally not wild about the octopus in it, (disclosure, i have never tasted octopus) but Paul quickly ate it all off my plate to get it out of my sight I think that Buccaneer has the best cup of coffee on the island too. Vasty (Joe jr) the owner, has revamped all of the fish tanks. All of the fish tanks are now fresh water tanks. The salt water in the tanks were just too corrosive and maintenance was a nightmare. So all of the salt water creatures went back to the sea and new fresh water fish are in and thriving. Gorgeous.

Crystal Casino was somewhat kind. We each made about $100. Paul seems to think we are even on the week re: Casino money.

Tomorrow we hope to get over to the island and vegetate there for the day. We are going to a BBQ for dinner tomorrow night.

I've always been curious about the Buccaneer. Every trip it's on our list but ends up getting bumped for someplace else. Maybe our next trip we'll finally make it. I actually like octopus but prefer it marinaded and cold in a salad.

Boy it seems like your trip is going by fast, I hope it slows down a bit for you :-) I like the wind also but admit it is hard to read the morning paper sometimes :-) I am guessing your anniversary dinner must be coming up soon, hope it is a wonderful one!

I love long winded trip reports, keep them coming! Although, I know what you mean about trying to find something new to say. I am like that with my camera now. Each year I take fewer and fewer pictures. How many sunset pictures do I really need; (quite a few apparently).

I read somewhere that there is a seaweed problem by the Marriott, and I remember there being seaweed that I hated walking through during our stay in the Palm Beach area in 2012. It was also plentiful in the mornings along the beach in front of Playa Linda and the Occidental.

I hope those boys enjoy their cigars. Most people don't, but I love the smell of a cigar. Reminds me of sitting on grandpa's lap many moons ago when he played poker with his buddies. They taught me a lot.

(our anniversary dinner was at MJ a few nights ago.
i too love the smell of a cigar, but not the smell it stays on clothes)

    Day 10 May 18

Brain fog has finally set in. Today is Sunday, except we went thru the better part of the morning thinking today was Monday. DUH!

Weather continues to be perfect. The winds are less over the last 2 days but there is still a comfortable breeze

The resort continues to be busy with more and more people coming in to attend Soul Beach Festival that begins Wednesday.

Dinner tonight was BBQ at a friend’s house. YUM ...AND.....a container of bbq chicken, baked beans and home made yeast rolls.....in the freezer and will be Wednesday’s dinner!

Tonight at the Alhambra we broke even, and I guess that is a win. We only stayed for 45 min and played craps.

I mentioned to Paul that I may take my remaining portion of my casino money and visit Kays or one of the other jewelers and buy a pair of earrings.

Also a huge tree at Fort Zootmaan toppled over late this afternoon and caused quite a commotion and snarled traffic on the boulevard.

That’s my Sunday........hope all of you had a good weekend too.

Great reports....I like reading it as if I was living it. That also is my style for writing mine..and I love it. ! I for one...need help in that area as I tend to be too "restless" the first few days while I try to settle into relaxation !

Thank you so much again for your reports !

Brain fog is good, especially since you have one more day of vacation as you thought it was Monday (lol)....I usually do the same after so many trips to casino I buy something nice to always have and remember my trip by. Love reading your daily reports, feels like I am with you. Have you rode the trolley yet?

The Trolley....we have not only not ridden it, we have not even seen it. We will today as a ship is in town and it should be running.
