Andrea, a trip to Kays or somewhere will definitely be a big win for you. We tire of the casinos after all of the donations, and usually try to buy something before losing it all. We have never been big winners at the casinos, but we have made some good investments in the jewelry department. So when you guys figured out it was Sunday, instead of Monday, bam you had an extra day!
We took a ride up to Playa Linda and had a delicious lunch at Scott’s Brats. OMgosh delicious. Scott and Leslie are the hardest working people on this island. Their day is not just 8a to 3p....it is whole lots more........shopping, bookkeeping, maintenance, prepwork etc. I am so very impressed by their hard work and much success. If anyone envys their life here on Aruba, think twice. They rarely get to the beach or to golf. The last time they had a few days off in a row was to attend a funeral in Wisconsin. They work very very hard and I so wish that they could get to enjoy some much deserved time off! Anyway, Paul and I had a heineken and he had an italian sausage with peppers and onions and i opted for......a Doc’s Brat......a brat with peanut butter, cream cheese and jalapenos. As disgusting as it sounds ……..it was terrific.
Later, I meandered around the downtown into a few jewelry stores but found no earrings that called out to me. I also was looking for a Pandora or Chamilla bead in the aruba flag colors, which I know is in one of these stores, but I was not successful finding it today. Maybe tomorrow afternoon.
Dinner tonight was at LaVista at the Marriott. We both had immense salads and grilled tuna. It was delicious.
Sorry for the sideways kitty. She is our favorite kitty here at the Renaisance.
The fish are photo of the fish in one of the tanks at Buccaneer.
The photo of the food is my Seafood Paella at Buccaneer.
Paul never puts his foot down except for Cats, Dogs and horses. His words are something like NO…ENOUGH ALREADY.
But, he was the first to head to buy "kitten food" for this little guy.
He and his mom, the calico in the other photo have become ours for the last 10 days.
Oooooh, you said the magic word, Pandora. Can you post if you find an Aruban Pandora charm? I have room to squeeze one more on my bracelet. Do you have the suitcase charm? Since we couldn't find a charm specific for Aruba on our last trip, I got the suitcase. On one side it says "Paris" and on the other side it has a palm tree and the initials DK. The sales person said it meant "Dutch Karibbean" because the dutch spell Caribbean with a K, not a C (best sales pitch I'd heard in a while, and it sounded good). I've searched and the DK may actually stand for Denmark. DK is their country code and Pandora was founded in Copenhagen, I believe. I've also seen that DK stands for Dutch Kingdom.
Anyhow, enjoy your jewelry search. Many times as I losing money at the casino I'm thinking about how much I could be buying with that money and have something to show for it.
Love the kitties!!!!! We have three, and hubby also says no more.
