    Andrea,

So glad the weather is showing its sunny side... Your little man is so cute... I feel so bad for these animals, last time at the Radisson, there was 2 dogs on the beach.. the one grew attached to DH ( probably because he was always feeding him ) however, with 110 lbs of 1 dog at home, is more than enough for us, at this time.. So Please tell me, what is
    "lost symphony" ?

Andrea - I have had 2 male orange cats in my life now (one currently) and they have been the most loving cats. My vet actually told me that for some reason male orange tiger cats are the most affectionate and personable cats. Not sure if and why this is true, but if I ever want a new cat I will definitely look for an orange boy!!

this coming week, paul and i are going to scoop up the 2 male kitties that we have found and with the help of ARF-Aruba, they well be sterilized and either
    adopted
    or
released where we found them from (ren ocean suites)
both the orange and the white with grey are very loving.

both appear to be in very good shape.

Our orange and white boy Murphy is asleep on the desk next to me as I type.

Good luck Andrea, I hope you are able to find homes for these boys.

LOL, he heard me type about him and he came over and laid down on my lap purring as I type this.

    today........ saturday may 12
i think it is the 12th i am losing track of time.

weather........showery on and off all morning.
sky brightened by noon and by 12:10 pm we were in the ocean at the island on and off til about 5.

(even though the weather has not been superb and we have had numerous showers and clouds we have used 2, 8 oz banana boat #30 sunscreen spray...we broke open spray container #3 this afternoon)

came back to the resort after 5 and took part in their 2/1 happy hour.
the pool bar (SOLE') staff certainly were busy and none had a smile and all were grumbling. they were very frazzled and appeared overworked or understaffed or both. maybe these folks need a change of pace or some time off or something?!?!

dinner was at HOPI BON at Seaport Mktplace and was delicious. yum
    Will go there again!!

we each brought a few bucks over to the crystal casino and made it last for 3 hrs! imagine that.
came back with the same amount we started with.

tomorrow mother's day will include some snorkeling and a mother's day lunch/dinner at cooks mid afternoon.

Your post confirms my need for the big pump bottles of sunscreen for our trip. The hubs and I were wondering how much we would need, and were debating between the regular squeeze bottles of the big pump bottles. The pump only comes in SPF 50 though, so we may have to get a combination of the two to cover us for 12 days.

Rule of thumb for sunscreen for Aruba-- bring twice the amount you THINK you will need. ESPECIALLY if you are partial to a specific brand.

The sun is twice as strong in Aruba as it is in Miami. Start out at a higher SPF and work your way down as needed. Dd is fair skinned and uses spf 30 the entire trip and always comes home nicely tanned. I have a more olive skin (Portuguese) and use spf 30 the first couple of days and then go down to 15 spf, but no lower.

Remember to apply to the hands, tops of feet and all over the ears. If you want extra protection from the sun, wear a hat, even while in the water. With the wind though you want a hat that will not blow off

    sunday, mother's day

spent some time on ren island and again the mosquitos were bad when the sun went in.
snorkeled a bit and it was a bit rough, but still saw lots.

had lunch at COOKS, their mother's day special buffet was worth writing home about!!!

more time later at the pool, neither one of us hungry for dinner due to our big meal at lunchtime.

spent some time at the crystal casino and actually came out a few dollars ahead.

    sandwiches late at the Plaza.
    good sandwiches!!
