What a great report or should i say GREAT vacation!!
We've always used insulated cups every since we started our beach trips years ago. My Husker cup always catches another Nebraska person strolling on the beach. Great way to meet new peeps!!
We are staying at the Manchebo and haven't been to Aruba since 2005.
I would assume you walked the beach to Scott's Brats. Is this correct?
Thanks for the tip on expecting the watered down drinks. Might have to order your drink as a shot with a side of pop or whatever you mix it with. I'm a tequila snob so just give me a shot of Don Julio Anejo on the rocks with a few fresh limes. ahhhhhhhhhhh.......
itsjustme, we did not walk to Scotts Brats from ABC next to Manchebo Beach. We took the car- that would be quite a hike. We have walked to Mamas truckand past from ABC. Sometime we cheat and take one of those little white van taxis for about $1.25 from past Mamas back to ABC after a long walk on the beach. Those insulated cups are the best way to travel. You can get ice for free at any hotel when walking. A few little bottles of booze and a mixer in a water bottle with a coozie and you can enjoy a drink anytime and anywhere you wish. There are some beautiful places to take in the view while walking. Tip: if you walk up to the Tam or Divi and dont want to walk back, they have a free shuttle that you can hop on and it brings you to the Alahambra Casino. From there its an easy walk to ABC, Casa Delmar, Manchebo Beach and Bucuti. You can buy drink coupons if you wish at the Divi and hit the Bunker Bar. We think its a very scenic place on the water. It's in a little tiki hut over an old German Bunker with wooden stools looking over the beach and water. Very casual where anything more than a wet bathing suit and you are over dressed! Another tip: the shuttle also goes to Divi Links where you can grab a drink at the swim up bar and infinity pool looking over the golf course. Very relaxing and scenic place.
