Arrived AUA

Mrs. 44 and I arrived on-island yesterday afternoon. Absolutely excellent flights, including two of the smoothest touchdowns ever, one at MIA and the second at AUA. American Airlines was on time and great service. The 757 from MIA to AUA had been recently updated with improved seating. Great staff onboard as well.

Exited the airport to light winds, bright sunshine. Story goes it rained all morning. Got to the shack and found puddles around, weeds abound, and the little stray cat, TUX, waiting to be found. Tux looked good. Someone else is feeding him so he's now going to be double-dipping. Good for him!

Aired out the shack and headed to Charlie's. Snapped a pic with the new panorama function, it can be seen at:

Took a ride through the Cunucu. Plenty of green to be seen. Water water everywhere. Spotted a few new spots for chow and I'll be testing them out and reporting. Head supper at the Sultan. Consistent. Good. Filling. Back to the shack and blacked out.

Looking forward to catching up with friends old and new and toasting the ones that are overdue.

Bon dia.

Aruban lawnmower let me down

My Aruba lawnmower(s) (think goats) let me down. I thought for sure they would munch down the grass here around my shack. Turns out I had to go out there with the weedwacker and cut it myself. Thirsty now. Off to Charlie's.

Thanks for the greetings!

Weather was rainy for 3/4 of the day today. Hard to predict for the rest of the week. Things should settle in to sunshine and breezes the way this time of the year normally is. If not, well, plenty of work inside the shack and amble seating at my local establishments.

Had a Bandeja Paisa platter at Casa Vieja for lunch. Very good as always. Back to eating my meals at home until some friends arrive next week.

Bon dia.

Current Updates

As a side note... if any views look at my blog for local joint type of info, please be warned, the information posted there was current at the time. Things change constantly here, places open and close. For example, Brasas y Lenas, a bbq joint in Paradera has been closed for a while now.

I'm always out and about looking for new joints and I may have to start an update page of some type to mention the ones that have closed or changed hands.

Bon dia.
