By no means is Aruba perfect - it isnt the most beautiful Island and there isn't all that much "stuff" to do. But - in comparison with say Jamaica - I feel perfectly safe anywhere and everywhere on the Island and I enjoy being able to rent a car without worries. There is less crime and less political tensions then other Islands. The infrastructure while not up to US standards - is certainly better than the chaos we experienced on other Islands.

I tend to agree. I visited Barbados and was afraid to leave my room!
