We found the same interest in the election while we were there. The timeshare sales person brought the election up many times during our three meetings. He was native Aruban.

Numerous "non americans" have all made inquiries to us re: the upcoming election.
There is much interest and many opinions by the folks that have brought it up to us.
The last conversation was last night at the Alhambra as I was sitting outside reading. A nice lady from Montreal asked me if i would be home in time to vote.
I told her that we voted absentee.
Many are quite interested. Many have extensive opinions.

Again, i am not looking to start a discussion on who should win or who should not win. I am making an observation about folks here in aruba that are not americans that have a genuine interest and many questions.

Geez, guess there is no escaping this year's crazy election season. You would think you be safe from it in Aruba unless your tv was on. Just what you don't need, ha, ha.....glad you are feeling better.

We had two trips where, when we told people we were from Toronto, they would assault us with Rob Ford commentary. Now it's all about our "hot" prime minister.

Thankfully the "Bad" news associated with my country's crime rate has not circulated over to the Dutch West Indies, as no one from Aruba on hearing that I'm from T&T has ever asked me about our crime statistics. Mostly they ask me about how their carnival celebration matches up to ours. To which I tell them, "Your masqueraders costumes are still costumes and not bikinis with feathers, beads, feathers and beads or body paint like ours. And it's also still very much traditional carnival, keep it that way."

Glad to hear you are feeling better. I love the "wife beater t-shirt comments" my thinking exactly. Paul sounds like my husband when we go to the casino I know that "smirk" and he usually returns to the casino after I go to bed. They do have a good time though. We will not be in Aruba until July so it is great to hear all about your trip.

    Sunday Nov 6

Still sick....no appetite, malaise and nauseated.
Pharmacist said the malaise and lack of appetite could last a week...joy
    Paul A-OK

Today we went to Reflexions Beach and I laid on the lounge under the umbrella from 9am to 2 pm.
I slept on and off and played with a wonderful dog named Abby. (per her name tag)
I am sure that the Reflexions staff was not happy that I had the dog up on the large chaise with me, but so what!
Abby kept me company and enjoyed a cheeseburger from the restaurant
She had a collar and was in good shape so i am assuming she is not a stray.
Paul spent lots of time in the water and lots of time reading.

Came back to the Trop and I slept from 3 to 6:00, then to Hung Paradise as I thought I could handle some chicken soup and rice.
    I was wrong.

Weather is hot with only a slight breeze today.

So far I have NOT seen or done ANY of the things on my list
I have not seen Sena, Janet, Louie, Bully, Amy S, Hatteras, Aquaman, Bobbi, SkiChris.....
I had plans to see these fine folks........and my stomach ailment has shot those plans to hell.

    Kevin and family arrive tuesday.
I hope to be better then as it would be BAD if i cannot enjoy my grandsons.

    tomorrow....hope for a better day!

Glad you are starting to feel better.. you can actually tell people I went on vacation and didn't do my wt. watchers diet and still lost wt..(lol)
Loving your sense of humor too. As for those "wife b's" shirt" I personally can't stand them... as for the folks were them well I will leave that one alone.
Enjoy the kiddies tomorrow. Maybe they should bring them something just in case the bug is still in the air.. disinfect the resort.
cyber hugs hoping you feel 100% better by morning.

Wow, Andrea! That really stinks! The last time I had the stomach bug, I felt lousy for the first three days, but then pulled out of it quickly, so hopefully, you will too. It would be a good idea to buy some clorox wipes and wipe down all of the surfaces, including the remotes and light switches, so the rest of your family doesn't catch it. I hope that this is completely gone by tomorrow.
