There is nothing better than being with the grandchildren. Have a wonderful time and feel better. They will certainly make you smile and laugh. The best medicine.

    Thursday Nov 10

Today we spent most of the day in the tropicana's waterfall pool (not to be confused with the slide pool )

The boys are on totally different schedules which makes any kind of excusrions difficult. When ne is napping the other is funning full tilt and vice versa.

Paul and I parked ourselves at the pool and most of the morning we had Jake, age 28 mos in the water with us.
We'd get out for an occasional bathroom and juice and goldfish break and head right back in.
He has become quite a masterful jumper and goes underwater like a champ.

Brother Liam age 11 mos, does not let go of his mom and enjoys sitting on the steps splashing and being cute.

We are doing our best to give our son and daughter in law a break, and we'd do much better if Liam would come to us.

Today, hot, with a constant breeze and a few clouds here and there. It was a gorgeous day.

We checked into our unit at laCabana and gave the kids the large unit at the Trop to themselves for the next 5 days.

    Dinner.....we ate in again.
I do have to say eating in is growing OLD and I do want to go to Gostosco and MJs.
My stomach issues on Thurs night thru Sunday certainly screwed up our restaurant plans.

Casino, the Crystal was unkind tonight.

Tomorrow, we hope to be on Eagle Beach in the afternoon while the troops nap.

Nice to read that you are now doing vacation things and eating! Getting itchy to go out to dinner is a good thing!

Everytime me that we went to the waterfall pool during our stay I'd stand under the falls and get an instant shoulder and back massage. Loved it...

those neck and back massages felt great.
we have a hard time keeping the 2 year old from the rock cave behind the waterfall.
he is looking for peter pan in there.

today veteran's day fri nov 11

we took the boys over to the beach early (8 am) and every palapa was taken!
they played in the ocean and in the sand for a couple of hours.
both kids now have full blown head cold virus and their noses are like faucets.
dear husband is congested and is taking dayquil like it is candy.

the troops all laid low this afternoon and paul and i made our 3rd trek to alto vista chapel for some prayers.
it was nice to see folks doing the stations of the cross.
i have forgotten how to do it, i guess that google will know.

then over to eagle beach to float like beached orcas.
the waves were plentiful and it took some fancy maneuvering to get the sand off of me later while showering.
    even my ears were gritty.

i ran to the botica to pick up some vicks and nasal saline for the boys.
while there, we were speaking at length to the the pharmacist about costs of our prescriptions at home and our crappy insurance plan high deductible and high copays. while we were chatting a gentleman came in, and bought without a script the same bp medicne that paul takes ............it is otc here in aruba for less than paul's copay. so, paul checked with the pharmacist and yes indeed the 30 day supply is $5. he bought a year's worth hahahahaha
recently the dr cut his dose in half as paul has lost 20 lbs.

tomorrow i will go back to the pharmacy to see if my arthritis medicine is otc and if the price is better than what i pay at home.
looking too for some good cough medicine as our family physician only recomennds robitussin.

you folks really need to see if you can find any tv broadcast of the beach tennis event.
the set up on eagle beach across from chalet suisse is amazing.

tonight at casino...alhambra.....a lady (younger than me) was playing next to me.
she was dancing in her seat. the kind of dance when one does when one has to visit the ladies room.
she danced and wiggled and finally wet her pants.
i was shocked...she continued to sit there and play.
not me, i was a "bit put off and disgusted" and moved to another machine.
paul did ok at craps tonight. he made $100 last for about 2 hours and i think he came home a bit ahead.

tomorrow i have to find GABY of Aruba's hands to purchase some glass beads for my pandora bracelet.

weather today...more breeze than of late, but not the kind of breeze that i have come to love and expect.

On one trip to Aruba, I forgot my blood pressure medication. I called the front desk of La Cabana so they can put me in touch with a doctor. It was a Sunday so she didn't want to come over but told me to call her the next morning and she would write me up the prescription for $20.00. I never called her and took a walk to the Pharmacy. I explained my situation to the Pharmacist and they sold me my blood pressure medication for like $5 or $8 without a prescription. Back home I was taking the Generic version but in Aruba I got the brand name for so cheap. I heard you can also get meds cheap in Canada.

Disgusting that lady at the casino! She should be banned!
