Blossoms was great as usual. Picked up Sis and Bil at airport. Their plane was a little late and took forever to get through customs and get luggage. Was unable to get to Bugaloe for monday night meet and greet. Sorry I missed that.

Went to El Gaucho for dinner. Bil and I had the 16 oz ribeye and it was well marbled, juicy, cooked right and flavourful. Linda had the pork tenderloin and she said it was very good and tender. Sis had the petite filet(8oz) and loved it. we stay away from seafood there now. Had too many problems with the fish and lobster. Never had a problem with the steaks though.

Went to Matthews for breakfast this morning. Hard to beat the american breakfast for $7.99. Two eggs, bacon, sausage, toast and coffee. Went to the Casibiri rock formations after breakfast. Quite a sight. Dont know how those huge rocks got there. Went to baby beach afterwards to snorkle and swim. Saw hundreds of fish. Ate lunch at Big Mamas. all 4 had the grilled chicken sandwich and we ordered a large serving of fries. It was all good. Had fries left over and 4 of us eating them. Back to Costa Linda for a shower and the bil and I went to Tierra Del Sol and bought a 3 round golf card and made our T times. We are playing Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

Dinner was at The Pelicans Nest. All had the grilled grouper with rice and grilled veggies. $21.25 each. It is still a great piece of fish at a great price.

I have not mentioned the cainos because they are killing me. Havnt won a nickel yet. One other note. Seems to be a little cool here. We actually felt a little chilly at The Pelicans Nest and it seemed quite cool at Baby Beach this afternoon. I know the humidity is very low right now, but I dont know if that relates to feeling cooler.

thanks for taking the time to share!!!

was blossoms busy? they took quite a hit when the transition to riu was happening.

the casinos are typically pretty unkind to paul and i, but we seemed to be a tiny bit ahead after our 13 days.
we have not done an accurate count yet, but it seemed that it is at least a break even for us.
    what are you playing???

the winds are making it feel pretty cool.
i wore a sweater a few times..... which is unheard of for me.

i also thought the water felt a bit cooler than usual for may.
the pool at lacabana was 78, the pool at bananas was 80 and the temp of the water at boca catalina beach was 80.
i dunno....maybe it is because our pool at home is heated to 84 during the cooler months and during the summer is about 90!!
or because i am old and love the warmth.

We really enjoyed Matthews breakfast and Pelicans Nest grouper. Your trip sounds great so far, except for the casinos of course.
Not sure when, but we will be back

I thought it was a bit cooler as well, especially in the evening. It was refreshing though after spending all day on the beach. I'm not much for casinos but DH loves them he was happy with the Crystal this trip. By the end of our stay he was up a whopping $103. Oh well he has fun.

I only snorkel with the real arubabob! LOL.
If you put some html here, you could create a countdown ticker, but we don't care, we're going in May 2018! Yay!

I am the original, real, Arubabob. Kent stole my name for his snorkel business several years ago. I dont mind though but sometimes people think I am Kent.

Played golf at Tierra Del Sol on Wednesday with bil. Both played decent for us. It is hard to judge the wind on this course. Putting and chipping is tough. Playing again on Friday and Sunday. Ate dinner at Tony Romas last night. Had left overs. Doing a shrimp boil for dinner tonight. Got 3 pounds of shrimp at Lings. We use Zaterains crab and shrimp boil in a bag. Add the bag to a large pot of water. Salt and pepper and a sliced lemon. Cook some new potatoes until they are done, remove from pot, add cob corn to pot and cook 5 minutes, add shrimp and boil another 5 minutes. Add potatoes back to pot, turn off heat and let stand for another 5 minutes or so. Then eat. we use headless fresh shrimp.

High Andrea, Yes Blossoms was very busy. We went around 6pm and there were about half the tables already full. By the time we left they were almost full. There was one tepanyaki table full, the sushi bar was full and there were only a couple tables left in the Chinese section. Talked to the owner and she said they were doing well since the construction ended. We swill go agin before we leave. The parking is still in the same place. The casino entrance is now there too right next to the entrance to Blossoms. There is a sign that says parking for Blossoms and casino.

Yes, Sis and Bil have been here 3 times before.

The shrimp boil was amazing. we have been mostly sitting around the pool. The sand is blowing pretty hard on the beach.

We ate breakfast at Matthews again today. The beach in front of Casa Del Mar is almost gone. Two palapas are eroding out and there are big rocks everywhere. There was only about 20 feet of sand between the rock wall and the water at one point.

Dinner last night was at J H Yees above the Hard Rock. It was excellent. We got there about 6:45 and found out that their early bird special is good until 7 pm. For $19 you get choice of lettuce wrap or wonton soup, one entree off a list of 7 or 8, rice and tea. 2 got soup and 2 got lettuce wrap, very good. I got the Mongolian Beef DW got Hawaian Chicken, SIS got Orange peel shrimp and Bil got General Tsos chicken. We shared and there was plenty of food left over. It was all excellent.

Playing our third round of golf tomorrow morning. Not sure where we are going for dinner yet.
