Talking awesome trip so far

I got here two weeks ago and so far what a blast, I've had the pleasure of snorling with Kent and we saw a turtle. Snorkled Malmok area and saw another Turtle.. My dad came down, loves Aruba and doesn't even go to the beach so we went to Cafe Capri a couple times for some great food as well as 080 for snacks and beers, Alto Vista Chapel what beautiful views and calming environment. Caught sunset with a beer every night at 6:40. We went to every casino and didn't lose all that much. My wife came down 3 days ago, we climbed Hooiberg and I;m still a little sore. went to Zeeovers and bought some giant fresh shrimp to cook up, they were great. We had the most fantastic day yesterday as we went for the day pass at the RIU. it was 105 dollars per person, that is a very fair price considering we had three , meals and all we could drink from 10am till 10 pm. The pool area was very nice. Still have four more weeks here but like Kent had said so "busy" its hard to write updates. Of cource everyone knows , but I'll say it again this BB is such a great resource

Wow, didn't even know the RIU had a day pass. Would love to hear the answer to Andrea's question about beach availability... I'm usually pretty happy where I am, but you never know.

i think it could be a great deal if you get your money's worth.
i ABSOLUTELY would get my money's worth.
Now, if i were there and bought a day pass and without being piggish/gluttonous.

we'd probably have a light breakfast, fruit and coffee. $5 each x 2 = $10 plus tip
go to the beach or pool and have a 2 frozen drinks each. 4 drinks x $8 = $32 plus tip
have lunch probably would run $10 each, maybe more $20 + tip
probably 2 more frozen drinks each during afternoon (ok kind of gluttonous ) $32 plus tip
dinner conservatively $45 each x 2 plus tip

if i was still able to stand by the end of the night, i would think i would have gotten a good bang for my buck.

not to mention a beautiful (albeit not much shade) pool area and great beach.

I didn;t plant myself on the beach because I go to Boca Catilina every day and I just wanted to hang by the pool. But when I did swim in the sea it wasn;t crowded. Zeeovers is a cool little spot that is a fishmarket type place that sells great fresh fish and shrimps. They also have small "restaurant" that serves up reasonable priced meals by the water. It is past the Balashi plant . Take the right next to the subway sandwich shop it right on that road.
