Bagpipes on the Beach
Strange thing happened to me. Mrs. 44 and Cousing of 44 and I were walking along Palm Beach after a lovely Sunday Brunch at the Hyatt. We heard the sound of bagpipes and progressing on, discovered a fellow playing bagpipes at the waters edge in front of the Playa Linda. Now, this was a first for me. I've heard plenty of bagpipes in the US, in Scotland, and a few other countries, but never in Aruba. I wanted to ask the man some questions, but he was in the middle of the music and did not want to interrupt. I snapped a few photos, one of which can be seen at this link:
http://bentpage.wordpress.com/2009/0...-on-the-beach/ You just never know what you'll see in Aruba. Keeps it fun. Maybe someone knows this fellow. Bon dia. 44 |

What does the patch on his bagpipe say? I know many members who are part of the Emerald Society which is a Police and Fire organization. If you can provide a larger photo of the patch, I might be able to help identify at least the organization.

Andrea,
There were very few people on the beach and no one within about 30-40 yards. A few people did like us and took some photos. It was an interesting phenomenon because it was unexpected. As for the kilt factor, I have not further data. 44 |
