Hope Curt doesn't mind. Here is his update posted to Facebook:
Internet connectivity issues at our rental, but I'm trying to get that remedied. Landed about 1pm. Picked up the car from Jay's. Easy smooth transaction... Very friendly. Dropped off our stuff at the rental and went straight to Eagle for lunch from the food truck and relaxation. Stayed for a few hours. Went back and cleaned up for Aruba Ray's comedy. Didn't think the lady show we saw could be topped but somehow it was. Ended up at Bingo for a late late meal and shots. Did other inconsequential things along the way but that's more for the podcast than a Facebook update.
I youtubed the guy that was at the comedy show this week, very funny! Have a blast and keep us posted. I am counting down the days till we return, your postings will make me smile till then. Please take some good photos for the contest, lol. I am prepping now.
Spent yesterday at Palm. It was pretty empty by Palm standards. Floated on our papasans all day. Walked down to the Playa Linda ti meet someone I had interviewed on Episode 33. It was very cool meeting someone I had already kind of met before.
After the beach met up with a friend that lives on the island at the local store. She's doing a cleanse do no booze. We made it easy her and also refrained from boozing. After we showered went to the Tam to see Gaby from Aruba hands. Maggie got a couple things. Love Gabys passion for what she does.
Then we went to Matthews for drinks and karaoke. My first time there. I loved it. The low rise might be where it's at. Finished up at the taco truck which never disappoints.

Reason: edited because we went to Matthews not Ricardos
sitting here in delaware attempting to not drive myself crazy. We leave for the bwi sheraton as soon as maggie gets home from work but that won't be for another few hours. I figured i might as well get started on the trip report now. We have our restaurant list made, although we'll undoubtedly swap some out.
We plan on checking out a couple of aruba ray's comedy shows and also the arf fundraiser taking place on friday the 15th at the tierra del sol restaurant. Outside of that, we will most likely spend the nights listening to bands or watching (not participating in karaoke). During the day we'll mostly be pulling a cpjones with a lot of beaching, a bit of reading and some napping. I do enjoy my beach naps. Now we did say we'd be climbing hooiberg this time around but i wouldn't be willing to bet my life on it. We'll see how it goes.
My updates are almost always a day behind because I do things like type it out and forget to hit the submit button lol
Went to Baby Beach this Thursday morning. Recorded an episode of One Happy Podcast in the car on the way down. Had a ton of fun doing that. Its a short episode, about 20 minutes long recapping our first two days on the island.
Baby beach was crowded when we arrived. I think there was some sort of day camp going on since 75% of the people there were under the age of 12. I'll tell you what I never went to a camp like that growing up. I wonder if those kids know how good they have it. The camp stayed there most of the day. I think they started to leave sometime around 3pm Met a nice family from the Philadelphia area who were first timers. They were staying at a house rental in the Lago Colony. Loved the house but I think they weren't thrilled with the experience. I fault their friends who turned them on to Aruba. Unless I knew the family specifically wanted that environment there is no way I'd recommend newbies stay on that side of the island.
On the way home from Baby we stopped off at that secret bakery in Saveneta to pick up some Loempia. Got the biggest smile from the guy behind the window when I said Masha Danki. It really is the little things like that, that can make someone's day. Also had to stop off in town to try to find a memory card reader so I could do podcasts from here. Microsoft coerced me into finally upgrading my laptop to windows 10 but doesn't have updated drivers for my recorder rendering this laptop useless for pretty much the only thing it's used for... thank god for workarounds. Got to play with the new parking meters. 1 florin got me 30 minutes of which I used maybe 5 since the lot we parked in was not even a half block from Boorchands.
Went back to the house to hand out and listen to music for a bit. Went to dinner at Ricardo's. Had such a great time at Matthews the night before, we decided to visit Ricardo's for dinner and then the karaoke dance party afterward. Dinner was nothing special, Maggie actually didn't like it at all. Won't bother with them again. The food was just average and the karaoke paled compared to Matthews the night before.
Decided to go to Palm Beach to see if there was a band at the Hard Rock. There was a local band that we saw our last vacation. Didn't go in just stayed on the outside... didn't matter since sound doesn't care. Besides, there is more room to dance outside. For a couple of songs, I put on a show for the kind folk also gathered outside. Actually, it was more for myself, since I don't know if anyone was even paying attention to me... but I had fun. Singer has this weird fixation with Justin Bieber. He turned a 4 minute Bieber song into like a 15-minute opus. WTF! That's when I knew it was time to head home. It was going on midnight and I had a podcast to upload.
