Awesome reports!! Thanks for sharing. I get the same feeling when you see people with bags packed heading home. Usually it is on the escalator ride in the airport.
Next Aruba trip to the Marriott Surf Club July 2018.

    Brad's Aruba Trip - June 13-June 20, 2014

    Day 3 - Fathers Day !!

Deb went down and got the Palupa's this morning...again..no real crowd. I think we have found our weeks we like to come. I think we have been here the same times before..but always seemed a bit more crowded..but anyway...love the more relaxed feel.

Off to Salt n Pepper for our wonderful breakfast, The girls got the "healthy sandwhich" and the boys got two scrambled, sausage and hashbrowns. Mimosa's for Deb! Loved eating breakfast watching the World Cup, also picked up a couple cute Orange Salt n Pepper World Cup shirts for $5 a piece...great deal !

Came back to Ocean Club and headed to the beach! Great sunny day and extra windy. Great folks on the beach today too, around 5ish, there were two older boys that had gotten here and obviously started drinking the second they arrived....they came to the beach to meet up with the parents and were a bit annoying...and sad part is the parents didn't seem to care. I did the back and forth thing to the pool as I love both. It was also nice to go to the swim up bar, grab a drink and watch the world cup off and on..we are not big soccer fans..but its fun to get drawn into it as we have in the past.

Came up late in the day and took a big 'ol fathers day nap!! Later we took the food we bought on Saturday at Daily Fish and Sunday at Superfood down to the grill to cook. One of our best meals yet!! AND one of the best deals yet!!

Marinated Shrimp Skewers (caribbean style marinade).... 6 Skewers (4shrimp and pepper pieces each) from Daily Fish $26
6 Small Tenderloin steak pieces from SuperFood - $20
Had baked potatoes and boiled some frozen corn pieces $6
Awesome meal for 4 and we had 2 small steak pieces left for sandwiches.....Total meal for four $ 52.00 !! ( Happy Daddy on Fathers Day ! )

Chilled out the rest of the night...no night swim as we were exhausted from being lazy beach bums all day...lol

    More to come....

    Brad

Brad, thanks for the reports, it sounds like you are having a great time. That "home cooked" meal for Father's Day dinner sounded delicious, I might copy that menu when we get there for my birthday meal.

My husband and I are headed to Aruba on Thursday. I have seen the weather reports regarding the wind. Since you are there currently, are the extra windy conditions annoying? I know that wind is welcome, but I'm not so sure about 30mph.

Melissa....I would say the winds are about "above average" this trip. I think when I checked the weather and winds seem to be averaging in the mid to upper 20mph's....there are times where it batters you in the face with some sand..but other than that..we are pretty used to it...we go back and forth from ocean to pool to help minimize the impact! Hope you have a great trip when you arrive !!

when we were in aruba may 9 - 23, we thought that the winds were above normal too.
but, we loved it because we have experienced windless days too.
aruba weather without wind is like Florida in July
