Bummed - we had to come home

We took our 1st trip to Aruba last week, to celebrate our 10th anniversary. Needless to say we are in love, totally hooked and trying to figure out how and when we can go back. I was so bummed to have to leave, if it weren't for missing our children there was nothing calling to us from home. I spent the last several days trying to figure out how we could move there!

Our trip was awesome and worth the long days of travel (from Seattle it was 11 1/2 hours of travel time with 2 flights). We stayed at the Bucuti, in the Tara suites. I love that resort. We waivered between that and the Manchebo when we were choosing and are so glad we chose Bucuti. We have decided we will take our kids back next time and will either stay at the Manchebo or look into a time share.

There is so much to say, I dont even know where to start. First as we were trying to plan this trip we had no idea where to go, but knew we wanted to go Caribbean - however due to hurricane season we were having a hard time. We fell in love with a resort in Fiji - but the price immediately detered us. So I called Costco travel for some ideas and the gal mentioned Aruba....hadnt even thought of Aruba, so began looking and fell in love online. (as you all expected!)

Every bit of our trip was amazing (even our death defying taxi ride from the airport!). We did the usual, shopped a couple days in Oranjestad, Snorkeled a few times, took an Island tour, did the submarine ride, ate dinner on the beach, of course played in the sea, walked on the beach and spent some time laying in the sun.

The only partial problem to going back anytime soon was that we spent way too much money! But it was a second honeymoon and well worth every penny.

We are both so in love with Aruba and can't wait to be able to go back

Thanks for sharing your love of Aruba Shannon. You are now officially an AA-- Aruba Adict.

Best cure for the sadness of being home is to begin planning your next trip. Remember anticipation IS half the fun.

Hello Shannon,

We can relate to you story as we too fell in love with Aruba.
The people are extremely friendly, the weather is perfect, the beaches are perfect, the food is perfect and just being away from the snowy weather of New Jersey is perfect. (I have never used the word "Perfect" more in a paragraph before but you know what I mean)

We loved Aruba so much, that we are in the process of building a home. I cannot wait until our next visit in three weeks.....

I'm so jealous!!! OK, who has the best airline price (from El Paso, TX), and the best place to stay -- we don't need 5-star, actually would prefer something a bit more local-flavored (although I think we would need A/C at night).

Suggestions?
