Tuesday – After walking to the new Starbucks to pick up breakfast, we had it in the room. We then got our earliest start of the week and went to the Private Island where we stayed for most of the day. We walked the nature walk to the tip of the island, floated around on out new spring floats, had lunch on the beach, did some fishing behind the pier and sat in the sun. Jen “freaked out” when she found an iguana in our sunscreen bag. Later in the afternoon we went back to the pool where the girls sunbathed….then…bingo poolside at Renaissance. Bully picked us up for dinner, right on time as usual. We really enjoy our rides with him, chatting about family and Aruba. The girls love his van, which now has i-pod video screens in the back! Madame Janette’s was our destination. It was very busy, but we got our requested table outside in the patio. Cindy had the rack of lamb and says it was the best she ever had….from sampling it, I agree. I had the Burgerloin and was happy with it as well. The girls couldn’t find what they wanted on the menu, so we asked the waitress if the chef could make fettuchini alfredo, which they did! It turned out to be very good and reasonably priced. We had started with Caesar’s salads (two were more than enough for the table) and finished with one slice of Belgian Chocolate Cake….all good. We took our own wine and paid the corking fee (which we expected….no problem with that). Madame J’s remains one of the better restaurants around. Bully picked us up after a call….he was there within minutes. On the way back, he took see some Christmas lights….thanks Bully! So far, this trip has been one of our best ever…….life is good again!
I am so glad you guys are having a wonderful time! You should extend your trip so I can meet you guys on the 30th when I arrive! LOL! Since I am so partial to the Westin, I cant wait to hear about your stay there!
Wednesday – We went to the new restaurant, Cilo, at the Seaport Mall for breakfast. It is located where Villa Germania once was. We enjoyed the meal, food quality excellent. The rest of the morning and well into the afternoon we spent either on lounge chairs at the Renaissance lagoon beach, poolside, at the Captain’s Corner bar, or floating in the pool. Late afternoon we went to the Private Island for sunset. Glad we did, the location of the sunset versus when we normally go (April) is much nicer for picture taking. Always love the serenity of the island late in the day. In the evening we went for Chinese Food at Hung Paradise at Seaport Mall…..enjoyed it as always….especially when the bill was $47 for the four of us. After dinner, the four of us went to the casino and “donated” $40. Random note…..the only place that we’ve had a service charge built in has been at the hotel. Other than that….no service charge. I wonder if the island is moving from what used to be a widespread practice?

It's Still Snowing Outside!
Hi Cindy and Rob,
So happy you are experiencing serenity in the place you love! Glad to hear about the new restaurant Cilo. Is there any word on the Waterfront Crab House? Do they still have entertainment by Tessa's old lair?
Interested about a head count as well. Back to work for me.
Excitement for us today: Denny and I are getting H1N1 shots!
