    Friday

Friday – Went to the Dutch Pancake House at Seaport Mall for breakfast. We checked out of Renaissance at 10:00. Bully picked us up, right on time, and took us to the Westin. There, he introduced us to his good friend Frank the bellman who took care of us.
The Westin lived up to their word and gave us an early check-in. By 11:00, we were in our room, unpacked, and on our way to the beach. We walked all the way to the Surf Club. Enjoyed the area and had lunch at Moomba Beach.
Walked back to Westin for pool and beach. We really enjoyed it, not too crowded. After Happy Hour, got ready for dinner and walked to Hard Rock. We had to return after they treated us so well back in April (Jen’s 16th birthday). Once again, they treated us well.
After dinner, went up to the new mall (Palm Beach) for its opening. Most it the stores are under construction, so it is hard to say what the completed mall will look like. Right now, there are a number or stores familiar to Americans….the mall may be targeting a mix of tourists and island residents. Time will tell.
    Another pleasant family day….loving this!

Saturday – Started the day by arranging for an extra night at the Westin just in case the snow keeps us here. Then, got a “hut” on the beach.
Walked to Salt & Pepper for breakfast; it was reasonably priced and good.
Went back to Westin and sat on the beach while the girls stayed poolside. After a dip in the water, walked to the Phoenix….was impressed. It’s a nice resort with a bit of privacy….beach separate from the other high-rises.
Spent early afternoon at the pool then went back to the beach to swim some more. After some snacks at the bar, walked up the beach as far as the Raddison. Back to the Westin for some happy hour drinks, then, to the room to get ready for dinner.
Went on-line and found that our Sunday flight to Boston was cancelled. Spent a half-hour on the phone with American to find that they put us on Monday’s non-stop. Thanks American! We lucked out.
With a new frame of mind for the extra day, enjoyed a meal at Tony Roma’s. Charged it….need to conserve the remaining cash!
In the old days I would have been stressed out by the flight changes.....the new, mellow, Rob O just relaxed and enjoyed the evening. Life is good!

    Yep I don't know what's the worst...

    Think about that Rob...

Having to postpone your trip because there is no flights going to AUA or
Having to stay in the horrendous island of Aruba for a few more days because there's no way out....

Thank you for taking time to post trip reports each day. Glad to hear you were able to get an extra night at the Westin, and get on the flight on Mon. Hope the weather cooperates for everyone.
It's kind of nice spending time at the Renaissance then moving to Palm Beach. Almost like 2 different vacations. Enjoy the last of your time in Aruba.
