    Tuesday 8/14

Nothing special to report! We had cereal & bagels in the room for breakfast and headed to the beach around 9 where my brother had secured hut 29 for us Forum member Mike_T directed my parents over to our hut (Thanks Mike!) Met a couple from NY and chatted island restaurants. It's like a family reunion on the beach - people you haven't even met yet who will be like family by the time you leave! We stayed till 1pm, came back to the room for lunch and went down to the pool for 2pm bingo/frozen happy hour! My daughter won cover all ($80) We hung at the pool for a while then she & I came back to shower & run to Super Food for a quick few items. We stopped in Aruba Aloe in the lobby for some after sun lotion & decided to stop in Glitz for a quick $20 - Brianna left with $41, I left with $28 One of items we went to the store for (refried beans) they did not have - all kinds of taco seasoning & shells & salsa, but no beans. Came back to put the groceries away and went back down to meet the fam at Pata Pata for a Happy Hour drink. Came back to the room & made dinner - rice & chicken tacos & chicken & cheese quesadillas - yum! Played cards with the fam, then hit the sack. Long beautiful day of nothing but enjoying our little piece of Paradise!

how early did your brother get to the beach to secure the hut for your group?
how is lacabana distributing huts these days?

we have gotten refried beans at lings, but that was a couple of years ago.

glad to hear that the casino was again, profitable

Thanks for the daily reports... I've been enjoying them.... those 'arrival traditions' seem to happen to all of us! Ours is an Aruba Ariba at Gilligan's and then into the ocean!

    Wednesday 8/15

Another lazy day with nothing to report - my favorite kind!

I got up early and went to the beach, the kids & hubby lounged around, had breakfast in the room & played racquet ball for a few hours! came back around 1:30, saw them in the pool they were starving lol I made sandwiches & brought them down, we went to the beach for a quick dip in the beautiful crystal clear water. Came back for Bingo & pool time & happy hour. Ordered pizza from Sbarro & called it a night. The most beautiful relaxing family time! It's been awesome! I can't believe it's Thursday already! So thankful we have another week! My husband is getting very antsy. He really wants to go off property for a bit. Wants to drive around & see the construction on Palm beach. I'm planning to do that today. Sunday the rest of the family comes in and then we'll be non-stop on the go!

Getting a hut on the beach at La Cabana -

At 8am there was no problem getting a hut somewhat close to the beach entrance. By 10 I would say you are walking a bit if there is anything at all available. Chairs are not a problem, but shade is. My brother was down around 7am yesterday - he was 2nd row from the ocean, 2 over to the left. There are Tropicana guys in blue shirts waiting to help their guests & La Cabana guys in Neon yellow to help LCBRC guests. They look at your towel and move you along to the other person if needed. LCs towels are now rust colored to match the new umbrellas - really nice to have new towels! Tropicana's are blue. My father & brother went to the swim up bar at Tropicana and had no problem getting served and were not asked to leave the property at all. My parents hitched a ride on the cart from Trop to the beach - seems like things are nice between the resorts....or the workers just don't care where you stay as long as you are nice to them??
