Really good experience with an ENT on the island - Dr. S. Cabenda - and great experience with the Pharmacy staff - both boys have double infections in their left ears - canal and skin infection. No more swimming for them!

Sad for the boys but glad you had a good experience with the Dr and pharmacy. Kind of stinks not to be able to go swimming.

I love the beach (who doesn't?), anywhere that I can snorkel, The Donkey Sanctuary (much to the dismay of my daughter), the lighthouse.

Sorry I'm slacking. Been taking care of some hurting little ones and some stress.

Getting ready to go to the beach and putting sunscreen on the boys' faces was hell. They were in serious ear pain - one crying, one jerking away when my husband touched his cheek - not his ear. Realized we needed a Dr. I've never had to look for a Dr. here before and was a little nervous. I've heard great things about the medical care on the island, but having to seek it out for your own kids is just different. I went to the pharmacy by the hospital asking for a swimmer's ear kit or glycerin oil. The very nice gentleman suggested I go to the Dr around the corner. I went back & got the boys and went to Dr. C. He was on his way out to lunch and stopped to look at my kids - NO asking for insurance, NO asking if I can pay, No asking for ID - just interesting in taking care of my babies. That calmed my nerves. He did suction in their ears and was amazing with them - kind, gentle, awesome. They each have a double infection in their left ear - canal & skin infections. No more swimming for the rest of vacation. Went out to reception, gave their full names and where we are staying and got the prescriptions for antibiotics in pill & drop form. Went to pharmacy and 'script was filled within 15 minutes...for $20. Wow we get screwed in the states!

An hour later the boys were starting to feel better - we hung at the pool and mommy totally enjoyed Happy Hour at the Pata Pata! I tried to put vaseline on cotton balls to put in their ears so they could at least sit by the pool with feet in or whatever but they were way to sensitive. After happy hour we got ready and went to Benihana for dinner - amazing food, awesome entertainment, great experience. We have never been to anything like that in the states so it was super cool for the boys. My daughter & the cousins stayed back and continued the party after happy hour

We walked around Palm Beach area, did some souvenir shopping and when the tylenol started to wear off the boys we came home. The cousins wanted me to go out and have a bachlorette night with them. I'm old and declined lol. While we were at dinner they planned a dance for me and performed when I had put the little ones down. What a great time! They were too funny! We stayed outside talking & listening to music till 2am - time I will treasure forever!

Boys' ears are doing better! So thankful for that!

We did our usual beach/pool/bingo/happy hour routine and loved every second of it. After bingo we all scattered to our rooms to get ready for our vow renewal on the beach! Due to some financial concerns at home I cancelled the vow renewal. After an "intervention" staged by my wonderful sisters-in-law & nieces we decided to move forward with the renewal part and cancelled the extras - we brought chairs over from the beach in front of La Cabana, my sister in law officiated, my son & sister in law held the sand ceremony frame instead of renting a pedestal, my niece's boyfriend taped the whole thing using the video function on a regular camera, etc. Our friend, Bryan, was there with his photo expertise (forum member Bryan Morris) and he picked up a few flowers for us. When all was said & done it was better than I could have even imagined. Very calm, low key, island-vibed, just family and our friend Bryan.

Afterwards we went back to La Cabana for a drink at the Pata Pata bar and the band announced our renewal, congratulated us and played a few songs forcing us to dance, changing to the words to "Lady in Red" making it "Lady in WHITE is dancing with RICH" - awesome, memorable stuff!

Spur of the moment, and with others offering to pay, we went to Gianni's Restorante for an amazing meal. We did not have a reservation, so there was a short wait, but they were wonderfully accommodating for our large party of 13. The service was great, the atmosphere is wonderful, the food was outstanding. The artichoke appetizer was wonderful. My husband's chicken parmesan was to die for. I ordered a chicken dish over risotto. The risotto was good, but the chicken had bones, which I didn't realize (my fault, should have asked) so I didn't eat it. Huge turn off for me. My daughter had the spinach stuffed ravioli special which was awesome. There were no complaints about the food or service, other than it being a little slow. I reminded those first-timers that when in Aruba you have to expect everything to happen on Aruba time and remember the laid back feeling of the island. This helped change their expectations

I can not think of one thing that would have made the day any better!
