A Huge Masha Danke for sharing your trip with us Jacki!! Getting more and more hyped for my trip in September. Depending on how things go with the hotel reservations I may be over there a whole lot earlier in September. Could almost hear the waves breaking on the beach, the sounds of Papiamento, and the smell of food from the Islander Grill and the Cinebons in the lobby. Been craving their egg and cheese since I had my first taste back in 2014. Keep the reports coming, but make sure to kick back, relax and have fun.
I have been counting the days with you and watching your reports Jacki. Each day we get closer to our first planned visit to Aruba!!
Count down, 16 more days...I am soooo excited! Trying to absorb and take notes down as to what to see, do, eat, etc. We are liking the idea of the Trike Tour, good reviews and equipment from what I can tell.
We are arriving on the 25th and back home on the 29th. Not long but we aim to return. After reading many reviews to determine where to stay our first trip, we decided on the HI.
Does anyone know of where we could find a hotel/pool/beach bar who makes a good Spanish coffee?
Anyway, looking forward to more trip reports and photos!! Enjoy and be safe!!
Started off way too early as usual. I'm getting better though as you will see when this posts it is late for me - 6:45 or so.
I made a ton of noise in the kitchen making sandwiches for the beach, and a mommy drink to bring to the beach and a shake for breakfast with a metal shaker cup ball. Not a single person would get up so I left & went to the beach. Rich & the boys came down a few hours later. Hung on the beach till 2 - Bingo & frozen happy hour time! Jason won a game - a LaCabana I <3 Bingo t-shirt, a juicy hamburger at Islander grill & $10. My mom won the full board ($70). Good times We stayed at the pool till real happy hour then went up to shower & change.
We went to Barney's for dinner - SUCH a good time! Great service, awesome meals, singer with her guitar had us all singing at the table. Rich & my parents had the all you can eat fajitas (no one ordered more - the first plate was more than enough), I had the Parmesan Grouper that I've heard so much about from this board - it was awesome, Michael had a bang bang shrimp appetizer & kids chicken nuggets, Jason had wings app & kids fish sticks.
Great reviews ...have you tried the bingo at the trop casino. Lots of locals go there too
if so pay the extra 2.00 for the last 2 games for a chance to win double
Have you tried the local food truck too on the beach . Good fish..and pork chops
