OMG - it's going way too fast! More than half way over!
The kids and Rich went to play Racquetball at the gym here, I went to the beach. Got a late start because I stayed in the room to get them up & ready then made sandwiches for the beach - got down there around 8 and there were still quite a few palapas left, not as close as I wanted, but still some shade.
They eventually all came down after getting their butts kicked by their dad. Same old afternoon - 2pm bingo, 4pm happy hour - showered.
Went to Chalet Suisse for dinner. Amazing as always. The service is incredible the food to die for. Apps were soup of the day - cream of broccoli which wasn't really creamy but very good, french onion soup, linguini, and escargot. Meals - 2 filet mignon adult size & 1 kids portion, Chalet Chicken, crab cake, chicken fingers & a Zuricher Geschnetzeltes - Swiss dish with veal & mushrooms & spaetzle.
Waiting for my parents in the lobby before going to Chalet, Brianna & I went into Glitz - Sat down, put a receipt for $14.55 in the machine & my first $2 bet I got to spin the wheel on a machine I didn't even want to play - Brianna's choice. I won the "minor jackpot" $60 After dinner the kids went up to the room & Rich & I went back to Glitz - he doubled his money (started with $20, left with $46) and I lost $13.
All in all another great day on the island!
Today another 5 family members come to join us! Can't Wait!
Nice relaxing do nothing kind of day. That was the plan until my daughter decided she was really sick and needed to see a doctor. We started off at Urgent Care in Noord. The receptionist said $150 including exam and any prescriptions necessary. We felt a little odd about that - how do they know we would need a script? The new nurse (my daughter) decided she felt odd about it and wanted to go to the ENT we had taken the boys to a few years ago. We left and went to Dr. Cabenda's office. We sat in the waiting room for a little over 1/2 hour with a whole bunch of people. I think that is the big draw for the Urgent Care Center - no wait. Dr. C diagnosed her with tonsillitis which is what she self-diagnosed. He also said he's pretty sure she's got mono but the testing for it would take longer than she would be on the island - usually a few weeks! He suggested she have a mono test when back in the states and gave her a prescription for antibiotics. $100 and we were out the door with the script that cost another $15 to fill.
Came back to the room to find a rummy game going strong and everyone still in PJs lounging. Brianna went to the pool to relax per the Dr's orders, my parents went to change their car to a larger one then to the airport to pick up my brother, SIL & niece. I went to Glitz for a little - played for a while and left with the same amount of money - that's a win in my book! Guess who came around the corner at Glitz?? Brianna - drink in hand. She was feeling much better Rich & I left the boys with her at the pool and went to exchange our car. First car we were given was a really old minivan - very beat up, which I kinda like because I don't have to worry too much about little scratches, etc. But it was really junky. As we were pulling out the guy at Royal came running out saying No, wrong car and put us in the much nicer minivan they had on the other side of the lot.
Back to the resort in a ton of traffic (4pm) and checked Rich's sister's flight to find it was delayed another 1/2 hour, after being delayed a few hours due to A/C not working. Piled the boys in the van and tried our luck at finding the airport via back roads - fun times
Got our exhausted travelers - the had left their house at 7pm for the red eye out of Cali and were landing in Aruba at 5:45. Got them checked in and they relaxed and showered and we met in the lobby to go to Pizza Bob's. Brianna stayed back to rest. We ate, went to Pata Pata for their first virgin Pina Coladas and went up to bring Brianna left overs - she woke up well and we hung out in her room for a bit then my SsIL went back to their room and I lounged on the bed with my oldest & my youngest, talking, and enjoying every second of them before bedtime! <3
