Walt, there is a TdB in Yonkers, NY that we went to once & it was just not the same as here in Aruba. We met someone in the ocean the other day who told us there was also a TdB in Palisades Ctr Mall, also very close to us. There is just something about the one here that is different!
My daughter & Sister in law, Ann, tried to go skydiving. I told them about your experience and showed them your pictures. It wound up being too windy to dive and they were trying to reschedule for this morning, but I was afraid it would be too rushed with Brianna having to leave. There's always next year!
I know what you mean, we probably would never go to the TdB here even though it's only 15 miles away, but Aruba is always a possibility. Ya think it might be the location? Sorry the winds were to high for skydiving, I would love to hear of anothers experience here on the forum. Take care and continue to have a great vacation!
Brianna's last day Morning consisted of her packing & leaving here at 9am to bring her to the airport. Rich & my SsIL Ann & Laurie came with us. After dropping her off and composing myself we went to Royal because there was an issue with the A/C - or lack of A/C or any air circulation at all in the back of the van. They popped the liftgate and hit something and said they didn't have any more minivans but to call back later and they would either get one from somewhere else or give us 2 cars. Awesome!
We were planning to go to the Aruba Aloe factory but decided to first get lost and just drive thru the island a little. I love doing that We came back closer to the resort area and showed my SsIL Casabari rock formation then made a turn and wound up on 4 right in front of Bright Bakery! I had never been there before but heard so much about it from Curt and Bully tour takers. I'm so happy we were there and decided to go in. What a nice place! The staff was wonderful! We had a billion questions and ordered a ton of different things to try - a ton - and it came out to be around $11. We loved all of it, except for the tamaryn ball - yuck!
Back in the car and we were at the Aloe museum in just a few minutes. Took the tour, shopped the store and went back to LaCabana. Found our boys by the pool with Grandma and we hung out there and stayed for bingo. No winners.
Went up to shower & change & get ready for date night & stalk Brianna's flight. She landed save & sound a few minutes early. Rich & I have never been out alone together on the island, except for our honeymoon. Well, we still weren't really alone. We were with the sisters - Ann & Laurie. Had a great time - drove to Palm beach area and watched the sunset on the beach, then went over to Gianni's for a great meal. We walked around that area for a while after dinner, piled back in the car and headed to Alhambra were Rich & I both donated a bit and Laurie won over $400 - yup, she's up over $1k for the trip. Brat! She was playing poker again and got a Royal Flush. (OK, I've saved & rotated & saved & rotated all 4 directions and no matter what this pic posts sideways. UGH)
Then back home for the night. Kinda missed my boys, sort of.
