Hey Jacki - great report... logistics question: did you drive or take a taxi to Amuse? We went when it was Murandi and we had a hard time getting a taxi home.

The location is great. Well worth it IMO. As a party of 2 you can sit right at the edge of the deck and see all the fish. Our large table was in the middle.

We drove so we didn't have to deal with a taxi but the server did ask if we needed one.

Oh, I was all set to add Amuse to our list until you mentioned the mosquitos. That would ruin it for me. I also thought it had the look of West Deck when I looked at their website. I'm surprised about the mosquitos as I was under the impression that they were being aggressive with spraying etc.

    Oh boy, mosquitos stink

So glad that you got to Amuse.
I wish that the mosquitos had not bothered you there.

Thanks so much for writing your story.

Time to get back to bobbing around in the ocean.

    Any luck w/ BINGO?

Jacki am absolutely loving your posts! We will be there in 20 days but I feel I am there already when I read your posts. Thank you for taking the time to do them. Are the Mosquitos bad all across the island or was it just at amuse? We have already packed bug spray but wondering if I should pack more as we will be there for 2 weeks......

We had a few bites here & there while at Tropicana - not a big deal at all. At Amuse, sitting by the water at sunset was really bad. No mosquitoes or flies or anything today.

    No luck at bingo...yet!

    Jacki,
Really loving your report. So nice to hear others stories..
Had you gone over to Super Food??? Bakery is really good. You must try their brand Jumbo Naturel dressing... (salad dressing) good for dipping bread, salad or marinating meats...)
Try the bingo at the Trop. casino.. we were pretty lucky there too..lol
Glad you all are enjoying your time..

    DAY FIVE

Five already - I feel like it's going too fast!

Got up way too early - spent some time on the balcony watching the island wake up. Got my stuff together and went down to the beach all by myself. So nice! Met the rest of the fam at The Islander Grill for their Sunday buffet breakfast - very good, but they didn't have any Pastechi! I was a little annoyed. After breakfast we all went to the beach for the a few hours, came back to the pool area for bingo, showered & dressed and went back down for happy hour, then over to Pizza Bob's at Trop for dinner.

I asked them to sub chicken for steak in a cheesesteak which was no problem at all and it was delicious! I have half in the fridge for lunch or dinner tonight & I can't wait to eat it! Rich had a burger, Jason had chicken wings again, Michael had the BBQ combo (chicken & ribs), my mom had wings & a bruschetta appetizer (which was out of this world amazing) and my father had pizza.

Then my mom & I went to Glitz while the men all came up to the room for some Pokeno or Rummy. Mom made a small donation, I played the older wheel of fortune ish machine and got to spin the wheel and it landed on 500x so I cashed out & walked away

Yes, we went to Superfood on Friday when we moved into LaCabana. I'll have to check out the dressing on my next shopping trip! Thanks for the reminder.
