Morning, Fellow Travellers:

We finally had our long awaited holiday at the Divi Aruba, May 11 - 18/2008.

A truly excellent holiday, the only real improvement on it, would have been winning a massive pot at the Alhambra Casino, but, much like playing the lotteries here in Canada, I don't seem to be on the good side of those running the show.....

I use the info from the posts here and those on www.tripadvisor.com to be make the best available choices, and in return, I post our trip comments also.

On this trip we found the weather hotter than what I remembered from our previous two trips. Starting the strawberry daquiries and Blue Mondays at 10:45 a.m. MAY be a factor......., but it was truly was a wonderful experience.

From our converstations with locals, it became apparent that many felt Aruba was building too fast, and it appears to be true. Fast food chains are everywhere, and building development appears to be quite expansive.

Personally I hope the government gets a rein on things, and doesn't allow the island to turn in just another tourist trap. Places like this need to be left for our kids to visit.
