Tues 10/30...Storms and high wind overnight again but stopped by the morning. It was mostly cloudy all day but not the threatening kind of clouds. The sun would come out in spells and would really get hot but it was a somewhat cool breezy day. Walked up the sidewalk to Scotts Brats for a breakfast sandwich which was very good. Nice to have fresh eggs in a sandwich. Nice people, nice little place for breakfast and lunch. Enjoyable and quiet day at the beach till about 5 then up to check on the storm damage. So sad what it did to NY and NJ along with other coastal states. We ended up in pretty good shape back home in Central PA. We ate tonight at Hostaria da Vittorio for the second time in 2 years. My DW and BIL both got Lasagne which was a big piece but lacked any special flavor. Sauce was really bland. SIL got some kind of eggplant stuff which she said was pretty good and I got chicken parm that was good but the pasta sauce also was bland. Real good meal last year but just ok this year. That seems to be the way the reviews go for this place. Some good, some not so good. Ours seemed to fall in between this year. I will go back and try again but not a "must go" place for us now. That's it for tonight and guess where I'll be tomorrow about 8:30. Goodnight!

Wed 10/31...What a beautiful day! Now we are back to the typical October weather we have been used to the last 5 years. Bright sunny breezy day. Waves are down to normal size so hopefully the beaches can rebuild themselves. Of course, to start this sunny day off even more is a trip to Linda's. Walnuts, bananas, whipped cream, and today strawberries. Sorry if you're tired of them but I am obsessed. Drove around the island a little just to get out and see some different sights then off to the beach for a great day in the water. We may need to up the spf tomorrow since we got fired up today. Went to Madame Janettes for the second time in 6 days and once again a terrific meal. I'm sorry to hear some people saying they are having not so good experiences there but I sure can't see it. DW had the Surf n Turf with 1/2 lobster tail, 3 shrimp, and filet which was fantastic, SIL the almond crusted grouper which I even tried, was great, BIL, yes a filet, and I had the Arnold pork schnitzel with gravy and a small cheese pasta on it. I had it the other night and was so good I got it again. Definitely not a disappointment. Ended with a huge fresh made brownie with Cracker Jack ice cream. Yes popcorn, peanuts, and caramel in vanilla ice cream. Wow did that top off a great meal. Such an enjoyable night! Time to get to bed so I can get up early to start my baking. Goodnight!

Thurs 11/1...Another gorgeous day! A little more wind than normal but felt great. Had a few cookies to hold me over till lunchtime. Spent the morning soaking up the sun then walked up to the Playa Linda to grab a great burger at Burgers & Burgers. Love the burger with bacon, egg, and cheese along with really good fries. Back to the beach for a very relaxing afternoon. We went with some friends from the Phoenix to Pizza Bobs for a casual night of eating. Love their pizza crust and cheese. Somewhat costly for pizza but what the heck, we're on vacation. After totally stuffing ourselves on pizza we couldn't pass up the opportunity to walk across the street and grab some profitteroles for dessert from Matthews. Nice simple day for sun and eating. What else is there? Oh yea, Linda's tomorrow. Goodnight!

Fri 11/2...Ok, the weather has me spoiled now. Still a little bit windy but who cares. The sun is shining bright and hot. Started off with my Linda's pancake. Extra of the morning was mango. Crispy and delicious!!! Spent the rest of the day at the beach melting on my raft and watching the Phoenix get ready for a fashion show. It's fashion week here until Sunday and is really a bigger deal than I thought. Quite a bit of media running around with the models. Good stuff! Went casual tonight for dinner at Bavaria. Such a nice quaint place by Wendy's with friendly staff(owner) and good prices. We all got schnitzels, chicken, veal, or pork along with potato pancakes. All were good but I think the best was the pork. Loved the potato pancakes. Went down to the little mall at the new Alhambra casino for some Baskin Robbins ice cream. Very nice what Divi has put together there. Asian restaurant(Ginger), wine bar(Fusion), and some nice shops. Moving up to Marriott Surf Club for the next 4 days. Hate leaving the Phoenix but I have Marriott rewards points to keep us here for an extended trip. It's a sign that our trip is winding down...so sad to be on our last few days. Have a good weekend. Goodnight!

Sat 11/3...And the good days keep rolling along. Picked up an egg salad wrap for breakfast and went down to the tents for shirts and dust collectors. Moved the rest of our stuff to the Marriott Surf Club then spent the rest of the day at the Phoenix beach. Oh how I'm gonna miss the Phoenix these last couple of days. It is so jammed up at this end of the highrise. We met another couple for dinner at Screaming Eagle for our first time. Very impressive and somewhat expensive. DW and I shared potato truffle soup and deep fried Brie cheese. That was without a doubt the best soup I have ever eaten and the Brie was outstanding. We both got the skirt steak which was very good then finished with creme brulee which was great. SIL got Wahoo which was excellent and BIL a filet which wasn't very good for him because they put a bunch of garnish around it which ruined the meat. He asked for a plain piece of meat with a scoop of mashed potatoes. He won't send anything back. The experience was excellent and will definitely put that on our yearly list of places to eat. Gotta get all the sun in the last couple of days here. Man, I hate to leave this island to go back to the cold weather. Someone adopt me here! Goodnight!
