We sometimes forget that vacations should be about basically doing nothing. A conscious effort has now been made to be comatose in the pool for the balance of our time here. Yes, it's a tough job but somebody has to do it.
So, I had the wrong date for Quinta Del Carmen - it's actually tonight. Luckily, The Spouse looked at the email reservation beforehand. Otherwise, Tracy may have seen a floor show at the reservation desk. Don't drink and calendar, children!!
Met with a great pool guy in the afternoon (we're going to be building one). Thanks to Aquaman for the referral.
A great evening in - not a cloud in the sky so we stayed in the pool past sunset and took some shots of the stars. Dinner on the barbecue - piri piri ribs, corn, mashed potatoes and then, all gourmet-like, pound cake slathered with butter and grilled on the bbq. Yum. Yum. Yum.
Quinta Del Carmen TONIGHT!!! Read Tracey's review in the interim... she had me salivating.
Review of Quinta Del Carmen will be in the Culinary thread...
We spent the day doing errands and getting a little pool time in. Missy Margarita had overstayed her welcome the night before so we had a low-key day.
Our friends came over with their daughter who's turning one on Sunday. Only seeing a child every six months, it's astounding how fast they grow - not something I noticed with family kids because we would see them a lot as they were growing up.
The internet went out for a few hours at one point: we immediately went to Defcon level three and alerted all international authorities. The Spouse gets a little edgy when we can't stream iTunes music and follow what any number of Kardashians are doing at a moment's notice. Breaking news! I actually like being cut off for a few minutes but c'est la vie... we were up and running via tethering to the mobile phone. Nothing can stop those E! updates. Nothing.
Spruced up a bit - Aruba formal: linen pants and a shower - and then we were off to the highly-anticipated Quinta Del Carmen.
