Thank you all so much! I'm actually worried about the nightmares this little girl who was sitting nearby must have after seeing me fall, since from what I can remember I must have fell nearly on top of her. I still have nightmares about it, wishing I would have taken another way out of the natural pool or had simply been more careful. Oh well, everything happens for a reason I suppose. The tour guide showed me his scars from a vacation he had where he was burned badly, he told me that scars add character and only make us stronger, I'm starting to believe he's right.

Ouch! Hope it's healing well and you're feeling better
![]() This reminds me of when I went to the Natural Pool, the tour guide advised against swimming in the pool due to wind conditions and rough waves. Nonetheless, there were a couple of guys from another group or private trip, that bravely dipped in the pool. Next thing I saw was this HUGE WAVE CRASHING OVER THE ROCKS and pushing the two guys over the area of rocks that led into the Caribbean Sea (hard to explain without photos). One guy was holding on for dear life before another huge wave bashed into him. He was telling the 2nd guy that he lost his shoe and saw it amongst the rocks (closer to the sea) and he was going for it! Women (wives?) were yelling at him, to hold on and to just get out and leave the shoe. I was trying not to look but I could not not stare. The man, seemed to look in his early 40s, reached for his shoe right before another wave hit. I didn't think he would make it but he finally came out of the pool and not without battle scars. His knees were cut up pretty badly and bleeding down his legs. I just kept thinking, "WHY WOULD YOU GO IN WHEN YOU WERE WARNED OF THE ROUGH CONDITIONS?" After witnessing the power of wind and water, I opted out of entering the natural pool and said I'd be back next trip. The winds were too rough and any wrong turn would've pushed me out to the Caribbean Sea and that is DEFINITELY not the way I would want to leave Aruba. |
