ten minutes of rain as we rode from the airport Friday. Since then, nothing but sun and strong breezes.

Sorry missed a day of reports, will try to update......
our stay at Renn. In the new rooms was ok. I will put a few thoughts down on the place as I ramble. Rooms nice. They are still on first floor of one wing and on 4 th floor on other. The Reno has been going on for 6 months. Do the math, they aren't going to be done by December. Here's my complaints as a short person; sink to high in bathrooms, toilet to high I can swing my feet, safe to high for anyone, shower head has to be adjusted to hit the wall otherwise you have lots of flooding, there's a plug between the headboard and wall that you can't use cuz you can't get your hand in. Now that I'm done bitc****heres the good; nice furniture, drapes, bedding, linen closet provides lots of great space., the new bureau is kinda like pull out box drawers, safe is much bigger, ummm that's it.
ate at West Deck... LoVe, love, LOVE make reservations folks. It was packed at 7:30 pm. We had 4 huge apps; grouper fingers, carribean rice, chic satay and conch fritters. Outstanding ! Go!!!
spent the day on the private island, floated, ate pizza and then headed back to hotel for cab to surf. Little demonstration going on yesterday at govt building. Don't know much about it.
meet new friends last nite for drinks at Lighthouse. Lovely setting and great time. People are so genuine here and we really enjoyed ourselves and getting to know new friends.
Late at Papiamento for dinner last nite. Reservations made in advance. Liked it, didn't wow me though. Had onion soup and grouper . It was good not great. Place was packed and we enjoyed the setting. Service was attentive, wine and water glassed filled constantly.
Our plans today include walking the beach to Westin/Riu , breakfast at Scott's Brats , beach, visiting friends home and dinner at Wacky wahoo. Will report later.

Good morning.... coffee in hand and will update our adventures
got up and walked beach at 8 am yesterday from Surf to Divi Phoenix. The New Riu was transformed in the 4 days since we had seen it. Must of had thousands there working. All the furniture unpacked and put out in Restaurant. Unfinished pools look done but not filled. People at bar polishing counters . Beach chairs previously stacked and bagged all laid out. Fence still up around area. Looking more like Riu. So... Those booked probably don't need to worry.

Had breakfast at Scott's Brats. Burrito and croissant sandwhiches devoured.Yum! Best buy on the island. Most genuine people on the island too! Made tentative plans to stop by Busters to meet up with Leslie, Scott and Tom.

had received an email from Andrea asking her to forward his info to us, Aquaman aka John.John and his lovely wife. Bobbie had us over to their house for afternoon drinks. What a nice thing for he and wife to do. We got to see his comfy house and felt very much welcome. Nice to catch up with people you've know on line for a long time. We are jealous of their home and new one purchased. Anyway, it was a fun visit and we we delighted that he reached out to us. If anyone is looking for home vacation rentals this is a great house in a safe pretty neighborhood. TY John and Bobbie for nice visit.

john was kind to drop us off at Wacky Wahoo. Another drop dead meal. This is my 4th nite in a row having grouper, but by far the best. I had Grouper with Gouda cheese and spinach, don't remember the exact name but it was fabulous!!! Rob had barracuda and lobster tail. He also loved it. We ate at 6:30, out by 7:30 and the entire lobby was packed for waiting people. It doesn't appear they added more tables but just made more room for existing tables. Well worth the visit. $ 120 nite.

Went to. Busters at 9 pm. Wasn't sure I was going to last that long. Meet Tom ( tom and Stanley) without Stanley, Leslie and Scott and another couple from Boston. Fun time. They were watching game, not me as I can't follow football. So nice to meet up with people you know from posts. Had some great laughs with group. Would do it again. Good morning to our new friends if you are reading. Start posting Tom!!!😄
Busters is easy to walk to from the Surf though it doesn't look it.

little issue yesterday at Surf that ticked me royally off... 12 person log jam in lazy river. Security not to be found. They are supposed to be monitoring that along with size of tubes. Well they weren't doing either. We just got out and I find a security guy, asked him to break it up. He says he will, and then he walks away from pool area. Imop they are doing a terrible job of tube sizes, watching for bracelets and breaking up floating flotillas.

plans for today... Beach and dinner at Tierra Del Sol.

    Forgive typos...
