Sorry haven t posted before this. Keeping up with 4 24 year olds has crimped my writing style and time schedule.
We all arrived together Saturday around 5:30. My 2 daughters and their cousins Emily and Kevin from NJ are in first floor walk out to the pool room. Rob and I are on the 5th floor overlooking pool.
Check in was perfect, no lines, room ready. We were all tired. Forgot to mention we blew through immigrations in 10 minutes in Happy Flow line, we were the only plane in at the time. Bully picked us up in his new wheels. So happy to see his smiling face.
We headed to Casa Tua for pizza and walked there with our own drinks. We had hit duty free and purchased 2 of each; rum, vodka and gin. No one said a thing to us. Pizza hit the spot. The Renaissance Marketplace was packed and decorated lovely. We walked over to Marina Tower so kids could show their cousins the lay of the land.
Rob and I decided to hit the bed while the kids stayed up snd played Cards Against Humanity.
We all went out to the private island yesterday. Rob and I got there first at 9:30, we had choice seats. Island was quiet. Kids arrived around 10:30. By noon the chairs were all taken. The employees are all doing well. They island hasn't missed a beat. The bar is cute and looks like a Gilligans Island kinda bar. Although the food menu is small we all were happy with the burgers, chix fingers, hot dogs and fries. Hats off to the staff there. We were told the hotel is only st 60% but I find that hard to believe right now.
Back at at the pool for the Pats game at2:00, the bar and pool area was packed. Lots of yelling and screaming from the bar! There are tons of families here now and the kids have taken over the large pool. The cement islands in the pool area have become wrestling sites, football zones, little girl dance areas....so, the little pool shall be my new home.
We ate at Hooters last nite. Bully took us corn to high rise area. He is working long hours it seems while 3 cruise ships are in. We wanted the kids to see the shops, restaurants etc down that area. We had the Hooters girls sing happy birthday to my nephew even though it wasn't really his birthday. We had a good laugh.
Plans today include gym, island and date nite for Rob and I at Gostoso's, a new try for us!!
thanks for taking the time to share
(for all reading, i just have to say that so many of us are most grateful for the "my story" postings,it takes great effort to post while on vacation.
we all sometimes have much better things to do than type, so the extra efforts are not unnoticed. thanks)
glad to hear that renaissance island has made lemonade from the lemons and that the Os and family are having a ball.
