Great Trip-6/25-7/2

Arrived via Newark to Aruba about 2pm. on 6/25. Rented a small economy car and we are off to Manchebo. Renovated rooms are much better than last year, clean, comfortable, very nice. With the beach very much on our mind, its into swim trunks for a quick dip. This trip my girlfriends luggage made it with us.[could have gotten ugly- -again}Restaurants visited: Madame J- I tried i think it was called Steak Gianni Versace? WOW!!! Outstanding, also visited Marina Pirata, dinner was ok. Fishes and more also ok. There is a restaurant by the seaport casino that on all four trips we would walk past not even giving it a second look. This time we stopped and happy we did.The Villa,or Villa Germania i think.{next to Sbarro}Loved this place! One night had the filet mignon over fettuccine with mushroom sauce and was great. Also had the cheese schnitzel, also great. Great dessert menu also. What better way to cap off a huge meal than with a big bannana split.[I did need a rolaid though}Kudos to Shannon,waiter/bartender/dessert maker, great guy.I did go out fishing one morning on the Melina.Had a great time also.{ 1 Baracuda, and lost a very large Mahi-Mahi getting it into the boat] Oh yeah the Frenchsteak house was also very good. The coolest thing was we were lucky enough to catch a nest of turtles hatching one day, real cool. Also did parasailing, tube rides and went to Depalm island for half a day.I got it out of my system, probably wont do it again. To be honest we snorkeled down by Malmok and Boca Catalina and liked it better, much bigger variety af fish and creatures. The only thing ,next time if we are snorkeling for 2 miles up the coast,i wont make the mistake of walking back to the car on that hot roadway, burnt the bottom of my feet and had huge blisters{ouch, ouch}All in all another great trip, and God willing, be back in six months !!! Thank you again Aruba!!!

Thanks, Bill P.

Thumbs up

Nice report, Bill. Glad you liked the new furniture at the Manchebo. It's our favorite property on the beach but we haven't seen the new look yet.

Oh man - that must have been tough to lose that Mahi mahi. I feel for ya.

Weather for 6/25-7/2 Trip

Oh yes the weather! You know you kinda take for granted the great weather. All 8 days were great , sunny ,not even a threat of rain. I just want to comment on our side trip to Depalm Island. Not that it wasnt cool to be able to hand feed and basically pet some great big parrotfish, you couldnt help but notice all the broken coral that was on the bottom no dout from carelessness. How long will there be habitat there for all the fishes that draw the people who are causing the destruction? Just my opinion, like i said i wont go back.

Thanks, Bill P.
