hi everyone...finally got to log on...
hi ...everyone, Its cindy posting on rob's computer
update of our trip so far.. Arrived on an uneventful flight outa boston # 1013 friday. AA needs to get their act together with the checkins..no one knew how to get in the lines, the stantions were all closed. Took us about 30 minutes to get thru, however, I will say we were there 4 hours, YES, 4 hours early. Our ride from Saugus got us there at that time. Our liquor purchases were made, along with other family members. We bought 4 bottles, niece got 4 bottles. Thru customs when arriving we paid nothing, niece traveling without her husband had to pay taxes on 3 bottles. We had 4 adults so we paid nothing. She paid 11.00 per bottle....SO buyer beware. Savings for her was nothing, savings for us good. Bully picked us up, got some pics will post later. Took us to the grocery store sat. I highly recommend highly using him for all of you who are arriving!! Grocery store sat am, huge increase in prices imop. Cracker barrel block of cheese 6.00, at home 2/6.00. I would say things are abuot 20-25% higher here, much more than last yr. So far have eatten at Cafe the Plaza, which was great as always. Band playing, kids happy.Nice relaxing meal, lite, cheap, and close. NOW, I will SLAM Iguana Joes... Terrible service, terrible food, manager who could have CARED less. Waited 30 minutes for drinks, and 1.5 hrs for our food. Had shrimp fajitas and there was the 6 tiny tiny shrimp. Waitress stunk too. Called the manager over, his response, I will look into it...Then, he never came back. NOW, this is usually our first nite, and last nite meal...NO MORE. Manager was a jerk, waitress useless...GO figure...Screw them !Not that busy, it was the attitude that really ticked us off. Wasn't looking for trouble, and didnt want to cause any, but we aren't going back. Casa Tua was excellent as usual. We ate at the downtown one. Fabulous fettuciniYUM, salad, sangria... LGSmith steakhouse was good, not great. Service excellent. Had Giodani as Dushi Heidi suggested as our waiter. Had the couples special for 2/79.00. Got a lot of food. Also gave us each a $5 card for the casino which was fun and a cool collectors coin. r Weather is nothing but perfect with a great breeze. Easter Sunday is a big deal here on the island, and I guess we never realized it. At theRenn marketplace they had bouncy, things, cotton candy, popcorn, bands..The Renn suites had an Easter egg hunt for the kids. NIce... When we arrived we could see the tents all along the beach. People getting ready to celebrate the holiday. Also met Cyclone Productions, who is Tino here at the Renn. He came up to us so we had a chuckle. Going to the owners meeting in a little while so will report back. Went to the bb part yesterday We knew only ~AMY~. She knew everyone there. It was nice to put a face to our posting. Lots of people from other sites. Glad we went, now we can check it off our list. They brought out some nice apps which I think Amy arranged for. Nice bar area to sit at. We only stayed there about an hour as we had dinner reservations at LGSmith.ve Forgive my typing, I feel like I am typing on a kids toys as Robs computer is so tiny and this keyboard is like kids size...Not used to it at all... Hope all is well out there....post any questions if you have any. Will try to log on later this week. Would have posted earlier but the connection wouldn't work b4, and no one was around to fix it with the holidays. I don't like this computer...sorry for typos CINDYO

How did you like my buddy as your waiter? Did you have you guys cracking up the whole time? He's a funny guy!
Glad to hear you guys are enjoying yourselves! I wish i was there. I think I'll go at the end of May for a few days. Have an excellent rest of your trip! Take lots of pics! I'd love to see them all! |

Well, I'm jealous. I'm sure you are having a great time. By the way, was the LG Smith Steakhouse collectors coin one of these:
 Just wondering if these are still available. Thanks to Liz for helping me get these, and all those others who helped me get a full set.

Cindy O, Glad to hear you are having a good time.....except for IG's...maybe the ATA should hear about that visit....bad for tourism, although I think they care more about the evening crowd...drinking...than about the afternoon or early evening diners....(only IMO).
Glad to hear you made it to the BB....will have a couple chances this year, so will try hard to make it. Did you go out on the Easter egg hunt with the kids or just hang out with a Bright in your hand ??? !!!!! Anyway, looking for pictures......will watch for next post. Have fun...wear sunscreen..... |
