Do you guys go also on the beach to swim in the ocean? Or are you mainly in the pool?

    Have fun and enjoy Aruba!

Both! We (actually I) go to the beach super early - between 5:30 & 6:30 - to get a palapa & read a bit, walk on the beach, take a swim, etc. Kids & hubby wake up eventualyl and sometimes go to breakfast or to the gym then meet me on the beach for hanging/reading/swimming/bobbing in the ocean. Then we go to the pool at 2pm for bingo & frozen happy hour. My little ones call it Pino Colodo time!

    Thanks, Jacki!
It sounds perfect! As you are enjoying both, ocean and pool.
It must be awesome to be at the beach that early! I'm not a morning person, I wished I were! But I can imagine, thanks to your lovely stories!
    Keep em coming!

I'm generally not a morning person at all. Only in Aruba. I don't want to waste any time sleeping.

Guys, I got myself way too excited for QdC The atmosphere is amazing, the grounds are beautiful, the new driveway/entrance area is going to be gorgeous, but I don't think we'll be going back unless they expand the menu a bit. Out of 8, the only one who liked their meal was my 11 yr old. I'm guessing it's just my picky family.

That's too bad about Quinta DelCarmen. It happens sometimes when a new place gets a lot of hype. My SIL and the family were there recently and she said that the people who ordered the calamari didn't like it.

Sorry you didn't like QDC. The good thing about Aruba is you have so many choices, and there is something for everyone. Have you guys tried Barefoot - curious how you liked it there being the same owners?

Peg, I would agree the calamari was not our favorite, but the sauce they give for dipping it made up for it in my opinion.

QDC is one of those places we absolutely loved but I'm not sure it will be a "must do" for us every trip. I will have to look at the menu again.

Hopefully the parmesan grouper at Barneys will make up for it...are you guys planning to get there this week?
Not sure when, but we will be back

Jacki, thanks for the honest review of QdC. I was on the fence between QdC and Barefoot for my birthday dinner after the rave reviews. I pulled up the menus side by side and decided that Barefoot's menu offerings (and possibly the atmosphere) were more to my liking. Still may stop by QdC for dessert or a drink sometime.

    Now back to your trip!

The Orange Cosmo at QDC is one of my all time favorite cocktails...worth a stop for drinks for sure!

Cindy, I haven't ruled out QDC yet. I agree though that the menu could be expanded a bit.
