[QUOTE=Jacki;279720]Wrote a long reply this morning. Lost connection and lost the post. Got annoyed and didn't re-write till now. Please if you are typing a lot and not sure about the integrity of your connection, please copy before you post your reply!!
Really enjoying your reports, thanks for having us along! I always write my trip reports for the forum (and for my work) in a Word document and cut and paste into the forum. That way I can go back and see what I did or didn't do in the years to come. That air jumping looks like a lot of fun, I'd try that in a second!
BF is watching himself well. He's knows and is very appropriate with how far to joke and how much to appreciate us letting him be here. Brianna has had an amazing time with him, with us, and with all of us together. THAT is where my main concern is.
We've never been to Barefoot. I couldn't remember which drink Tracey between the orange Cosmo & the lemon Drop - knew it was one of those. I asked our server & she highly recommended the lemon drop so I went with that!
I had the only chicken dish on the menu. Thought it sounded exactly like the Chalet Chicken at Suisse Chalet - chicken breast stuffed with spinach. I don't like bacon, but didn't ask for them to adjust it figuring my son would eat the bacon. It was just ok & bland. Not worth the $29 price IMHO. The garlic mashed under the chicken was awesome.
My daughter had the Tenderloin & Blue Cheese. Said it tasted sour, think it was just that the blue was very overpowering.
My husband had the skirt steak with the bbq sauce on the side since he's not a spice lover. He didn't like the marinade.
My father had the pork mediterrane he just said it wasn't good - did not elaborate
My mother & Marco had the Paella, neither finished it both said it was very bland, not nearly enough seasoning
My son (13) had the Calamari - the looked like frozen onion rings. he did not eat them, but did eat the bowl of french fries on the side.
My 11 year old had the 4 oz kids steak and said it was good, but chewy...but he's 11 lol
Both boys had the chicken soup appetizer which they loved, Brianna had the pumpkin soup & I had the Goat Cheese fritters that we shared. They were both really good. My father had the escargot which say sauteed in garlic & butter so he expected a sauce but they were dry. I've never had escargot, not my thing and I didn't try it. Hubby had the cesear salad which he said was very good.
Hmmm. Interesting. I wonder if the bloom is off the rose already at QDC? I noticed a slight decline in the food at "Barefoot" in February and wondered whether it was having the two restaurants going at once: quality can go down during expansion for a lot of restaurants. And I imagine there are only so many good chefs on the island. Something to watch.
Thank you for the great report. So glad everyone is enjoying themselves.. and BF is behaving. As long as your daughter is happy and treated like a lady should be is all that matters. BF should be so grateful that he has all of you in his life..

Have to say I am going to miss reading about the "BF" soap opera, is this bad? Of course I am kidding I am glad it all went fine and hope it continues to. I'm sure your daughter found it very romantic when he showed up as a surprise, remember when we were all so young and in love
Enjoy the last part of your vacation and safe travels home to you and your family Jacki.
Thanks all. He told us at dinner last night this has been the best vacation of his life and please don't tell his parents. Very nice kid. He's never done thing like this. Not a great swimmer, never went down the shore as a kid - totally unacceptable living in Jersey!! He's never snorkeled or seen water so clear. It's been pretty cool seeing everything thru his eyes.
