    Jacksons Aruba 2015

    Hi,
Setting things up so I can write just about Aruba while I am there. Husband and I are traveling with my father-in-law. It just kind of worked out, when I called for our time share exchange, I had to take what was available, as I had already made changes to a previous booking. What was available was a 2 bedroom at the Surf Club!! Woo Hoo!! My mother-in-law is not much of a pool and beach goer, so she opted out on this trip.

DH and I have stayed at La Cabana twice and enjoyed it. I like having some 'elbow room', so I am glad to have the opportunity to stay at the Surf Club in what is close to ‘off-season.’ I wouldn’t be as excited for this if it was high season, crowds are not so enjoyable for me. Our kids are older and won’t be traveling with us, so things that the Surf Club offers for families doesn’t apply to us. I think this is the ideal time for us to travel there. I enjoy all the activities that Marriott’s offer, from morning stretch to water aerobics to volleyball, I am in for it all! DH, sleeps and relaxes much better than I do. By day 5, I’ll start to unwind and really enjoy the vegging out by the pool, but it takes a while for that to happen.

We are flying out of JFK tomorrow (Friday) a.m., hoping for an uneventful trip! We have rented a car and anticipate stopping at Super Foods on our way to the Marriott.

We have done the Segways twice, and they take the same route out to the Lighthouse. I inquired about an alternate route and Mark advised we could go out to the Chapel instead, which is a great idea.
We have also done the ATV tour twice, so I think this time we will just rent our own and go where ever they suggest.

That’s the majority of the goals over the next few days. We are not foodies and will end up at Iguana Joe’s and Moomba I am sure. No Madame’s for us…just not our speed.

Hope to check back in tomorrow, with a refreshing breeze and some awesome sunshine!

    Ugh!

On line in customs for almost an hour and a half with a long way to go. There were 2 agents working. This is horrible. We had an hour flight delay, so this is really grating. And unfortunately all the workers are not speaking any English and everyone around us is just as miserable.
Super sad face, if I could figure out how to do that, from kindle.
Tried to email car rental, God I hope they are here when we get through. Ugh!

Breath, relax! Everything is going to be ok!

The car rentals have your flight data, so they can check if there is a delay. Usually, they will be there when you arrive.

you said "in line for almost and hour and half" in customs.
    do you mean aruba immigration?

i have seen it that bad only on one occassion.
i hope by now, that you are through, got your vehicle and are now in your bathing suit, drining a cold beverage and DEstressing.
